"Great winter walk through nature. Easy trail, well marked. Gentle rolling up and down but mostly level. Easy to take a running stroller."
"definitely not the place to bring your dog, but the birding is outstanding. About 400 plus acres of refuge bordering the feather river. the trails are well marked best to come in the spring and fall, summer can get hot and very buggy"
"Nice trails, good variety of habitats, clearly marked trails, tons of birds and wildlife. We went early morning, saw beaver and raccoon plus many many bird species. Nice place to botanize and enjoy the odonates too. Free but donate if you can do we can keep this nice place."
"Nice quiet wildlife refuge with tons of birds. Not too many people. There's a couple loops and the trailhead has an old map but the trails are well kept. Lots of wild grape, blackberry, elderberry, and plum right now (end of August). There are lots of turtles in the pond as well. Bring binoculars. The trails are flat but can be a little dusty. When you enter, go straight towards the end of the road, past two speed bumps and one large metal grate. Free parking! There are only 5 ish parking spots."
"I love this place. I go here at least once a month. Its a short drive from Yuba City and it is a beautiful trail. It branches off to different trails that are all clearly marked (you can also grab a map at the entrance) so you can go often and not experience the same walk evwry time. You can do a short walk or turn it into several miles. I have seen peacocks and lizards, a bullsnake, birds amd butterflies. There is poison oak by the trails, but you will not come into contact if you stay on the trails. There are often other people on the trails but you can walk and not see them since there are numerous trail options. Its a relatively flat walk and easy for kids or beginners. Beautiful for anyone who loves to see the trees and whats left of the river."
