"I came here on Oct 12th during a late morning. I was consistently staying on the dirt trail and watching my step until I got distracted by a bush of wild blackberries while staying on the dirt path. My husband walked in front of me and he didn't see a huge snake in front us. I was one step away from stepping on a snake! It startled me when I turned my head back forward. Thank God for protecting me. Besides that situation, I enjoyed my nature walk and encountering cows grazing."
"Beautiful area. We horseback ride there and the 7 mile loop is spectacular! Lots of wildlife - turkeys and deer. Giant pinecones and huge trees."
"A great place for a stroll and to take in some nature. Nice for kids and seniors too. For a bit more adventure or challenge, tack on the Kanaka Loop. It's totals about 1200 ft up & down and 7.2 miles round trip to the east gate. It has beautiful scenery, cows, deer, turkeys, and a few picnic tables for a leisurely lunch break. Go early or late afternoon in summer when it can be hot. Also, bring a hat and a couple of quarts of water if you're planning on the loop trip. Recommended."
"March 7, 2019 we've had 15 inches of rain on this preserve maybe more. Everything looks like you are in Scotland. So green, lushes, beautiful. I was out and about for 4.5hrs. I highly recommend bringing someone you love or care about. Its fairly flat but can be challenging if you want to go up and down the hills."
"Beautiful. It's a little hot and dry in the summer. Bring water. Some of the water features are dried up right now. Great hike! You have to walk across stones to get across some small streams. Great views. Their are so many natural warm colors. Some of the bushes are even red. It's an amazing view. Just watch out for the cow droppings."
