"CYO Camp at Occidental is a wonderful place. My 6th grade child and those within her school class orbit are finishing up their week long sojourn as guests at the CYO Camp. I was fortunate myself to be able to spend a little portion of the earlier part of the week at the Camp also and I am happy and unequivocal in my high praise and gratitude for ALL of the efforts of EVERYONE involved in making this school organized retreat trip such a fun and inspiring experience for the children. Another school was there also and although our paths did not really cross, so to speak, they also looked to be having a special time too. From the get go and upon arrival Paul, Savanna, Harriet, Adam, Barry and others whose names I am remiss in mentioning here, were all amazing, cordial and kind hosts. The educational aspect of the school retreat had the perfect balance of fun, collaboration, nature appreciation, respect and care for the environment and all of its humankind. I would hazard a guess that the school children will remember this week for a long time to come and will have gotten much out of it, especially as it pertains to their own individual progression, their growth and accountability. Nothing preachy here, just good, wholesome, organic, well intentioned fun and learning. Barry, the nature guide with my small group of kids was like the Book of Kells in terms of knowledge and I enjoyed the daily banter very much with his good self. Likewise, Savanna had the perfect poise, was emanating with kindness and care and made all of the kids feel very good about themselves. Much respect and appreciation from me to all of you associated with this Camp. The food was great, the accommodation was just fine and I consider myself one lucky parent camper to have been able to have experienced Camp CYO, Occidental for a few short days. In a society where we heap praise on many who don’t necessarily deserve it, my own personal, deserved, highest of high praise and thanks to you all (and our amazing school 6th grade teacher and leader who went above and beyond to make this trip a possibility and a reality for the kids - Hip, hip, hooray to you, Ms A! ) Stay well everyone."
"OMG This was my Camp growing up, And i have the best memories here. I was in Quick Silver and Strawberry fields. My older sister was in Wild wood. Those are the age group names. Serve side was the youngest one. Camp was for 10 day and so much fun, wonderful childhood memories. Thank you CYO :-)"
"My kids are going there for their 4th year. They have attended the Caritas program too with their school. It's magical place where your kids emerge more mature and aware after each stay. Highly recommend....they prefer this place to the $2000 a week camps on the Peninsula or in the Sierras. Lots of return campers over the years where friendships are formed and familiarity sets in."
"The camp was great. They lost my daughters sleeping bag. She told them repeatedly starting from Monday throughout the whole week, they never did anything about it. It is a week later from when she came back...no sleeping bag. The bus driver told her that he would get everything off, but that didn't happen. The sight director for her school ( Sam Bishop ) was not at all helpful. He was supposed to take care of it, but here I am. Besides their poor skills on solving problems, camp was educational, fun, and exciting."
"The best summer camp in the world with so amazing ever comes through great stuff goes swimming canoeing archery hiking man is so good being your kids cause they will have a fun fun time"
