"Recently began taking Improv Classes at the New Conservatory Theater and it’s a great place. If you love intimate settings, fun loving people, and interactive fun, this is the place for you. There are several improv shows and classes available to the public. The theater is located on Van Ness and is in the basement of the building. There are three small theaters and a bar. The theater has been around for years and has produced some amazing art. Definitely check them out."
"I recently had the pleasure of attending a performance at the New Conservatory Theatre Center (NCTC), and I cannot express enough how incredible the experience was. This theater truly shines as a beacon of inclusivity and celebration of the LGBT community. From the moment I stepped into the venue, I felt embraced by a warm and welcoming atmosphere, surrounded by fellow theater enthusiasts and supporters of diversity. The quality of the productions at NCTC is nothing short of outstanding. The performances are riveting, heartfelt, and thought-provoking, showcasing the immense talent of the actors and the dedication of the creative team. The stories they bring to life are diverse and captivating, shedding light on important issues and giving a voice to the underrepresented. The theater's commitment to promoting queer voices and narratives is commendable, and it has become a vital platform for fostering understanding and empathy within the community."
"Year after year, NCTC delivers top quality theater, with a wide range of topics, featuring stories of all sorts of people. Acting is always solid, and they put on great musicals too. Comfortable theater, great bar, easy to get to on transit, great dining options nearby- everything you could ask for!"
"If your watching a show here, the seating side-to-side is really tight to one another, and the rows are also close together, so prepare to share intimate space with your neighbors. The nice thing about a small spaced theater is you can hear the actors very well, and see them as well."
"Such a cute theater! I must have walked past this one hundred times and did not know that such an inviting lively space existed in their basement. Saw a great performance of Avenue Q and really enjoyed it."
