Outpost Playground
About the Business
Outpost Playground, located at 210 Lincoln Boulevard in San Francisco, California, is a unique and adventurous play space for kids and families to explore. This playground is unlike any other in the city, offering features such as a giant fallen tree to explore, a Woodland Wall to scale, and water features inspired by historic water channels.
The Outpost Playground is free and open from April to October from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and from November to March from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hourly and daily paid parking is available nearby, making it convenient for families to visit.
With two acres of space for kids to play, the Outpost Playground is the biggest and most adventurous play space in the Bay Area. It is designed to be accessible to children of all abilities, with wheelchair accessible pathways and restrooms.
The playground features natural materials like wood, stone, water, and sand, creating a play space that mimics park rock formations and creek beds. Kids can also participate in activities at the discovery area, art and science spaces, and build with natural materials.
The Outpost Playground is staffed by Adventure Guides who are there to assist and engage kids and families in fun activities that connect them to the park. The playground is suitable for children ages 2 to 12, with different levels of physical challenges to explore.
While parties and group gatherings are not allowed at the Outpost Playground, there are plenty of nearby outdoor event spaces available at Presidio Tunnel Tops. Food trucks and carts are also located nearby for snacks and refreshments.
Dogs are not allowed in the Outpost Playground to ensure the protection of native plants and animals in the Presidio. Visitors can participate in habitat restoration projects and nature walks to learn more about the park's wildlife and ecosystem.
Overall, the Outpost Playground is a place where families can spark their imagination, have fun, and connect with nature and history in a beautiful outdoor setting.

"Wonderful place for kids and parents too with a beautiful view of the golden gate, lots of sunshine! A very good place for kids to explore and be creative in the outdoors. Lots of repurposed woods for kids to climb and play there are some water plays too . You can easily spend at least 3-4 hours ."
"Wow, what a great playground! Lots of natural repurposed materials, great for climbers, and dedicated areas for different age groups. Bring spare clothes in case they get into the sand+water activities. Be sure to check out the field station and try out the geocaching activity."
"There really isn't a better place to spend a nice day in SF with your kids. A lot of things to play with (water activities, climbing structures, slides, etc) with views of Golden gate bridge. If you're hungry, take a quick 5 min walk up to the Main Lawn and grab some food at the food trucks."
"The playground is very well maintained. All the play structures are designed uniquely and create challenges and learning experience from science to arts without discriminating the daunting for kids. The outdoor leraning areas run by Presidio Trust staffs makes this playground standout. The restroom is well maintained. The paid parking spot is readily available next to the playground where is located between walkable distance to the walt disney museum and the crissy beach. Enjoy the maginificant view of Golden Gate Bridge. Shoutout to the Presidio Trust. It is a beautiful San Francisco."
"Best Playground I've ever seen. It is a hidden gem in a quiet neighborhood that offers a diverse range of equipment and activities for children. From swings and slides to climbing structures and sandboxes, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The park also features plenty of open space for running and playing, as well as picnic tables and benches for parents. It's committed to safety and cleanliness, with friendly staff always willing to help. Outpost Playground is a perfect spot to take a break from city life and a favorite among locals and tourists alike."
