Koret Children's Playground
About the Business
Koret Children's Playground, located in San Francisco, California, is a popular tourist attraction funded by the Koret Foundation. The playground underwent a major renovation in 2007 and reopened as the Koret Children’s Quarter, featuring new attractions such as a climbing wall and rope climbing structure. The historic concrete slide was also retained.
In addition to the playground, visitors can enjoy the three carousels housed in Golden Gate Park near the Koret Children’s Quarter. The current carousel, built in 1914, features 62 colorfully painted animals and painted panels depicting Bay Area landscapes. To reserve the picnic area adjacent to the carousel and playground, visitors can visit the Permits and Reservations page.
Carousel hours vary depending on weather, school schedules, and season. Visitors can call (415) 231-0077 for an updated schedule. Admission for adults is $2, children ages 6 to 12 years are $1 per ride, and children 5 and under are free if accompanied by a paying adult. Children under 40 inches in height must be accompanied by a paying adult.
The playground is located at 320 Bowling Green Drive, adjacent to the Koret Children’s Quarter by the Sharon Building. Parking is available east of Bowling Green Drive by the lawn bowling building, as there is no parking by the carousel or Sharon Building.

Reviews
"Great park with many great features! Easy parking on slow Sunday but might be harder on a busy weekend. We enjoys grabbing hotdogs, the carousel and the play structure. Excited to try out the big slide with cardboard when my child is a bit older."
"Huge playground with different play options: slide, different swings, rope climbing, rock climbing, carousel, play structure, limited food and drink options Cons: restrooms are far and outside the playground , not many seats for parents"
"Really cool. Adventure guaranteed! Not big playground but lots of diversity to play around! Have water to drink and wash kids feet. Swings, slider, sand, and more."
"Super fun playground, definitely come check it out if you have kids. The carousel was closed for maintenance. But looked fun, the sign said it was two dollars for adults and one dollar for children which I think is a great price! Fun playground, and a great way to get exercise for kids."
