The County of Los Angeles Underwater Unit offers educational services and experience programs for SCUBA divers, freedivers, and dive leaders. The Department of Parks and Recreation has a rich history, merging the Parks Division and the Department of Recreation, Camps, and Playgrounds in 1944 to create the current department.
Bassett Park is one of 182 beautiful parks owned by the Department, offering a variety of natural areas, wildlife sanctuaries, lakes, trails, and gardens. The park also features a municipal golf system with 20 courses, as well as cultural venues like the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre and the Hollywood Bowl.
