Reviews
"Beautiful views and the paths make it a gentle hike to the top!"
"Very lovely and peaceful garden. It's an uphill hike so be prepared but its worth it. Views were amazing. Highly recommend. Will be back!"
"I visited here to simply hike up and kill time before heading to dine at the nearby Ventura harbor after visiting Santa Paula. I am not allowed to give correct review since I had very limited time to spend in here. I do recommend others to visit. I entered around closing time. If you wish to visit, make sure to enter no later than 3PM to have enough time to hike up, allow time to read the name of the various plants and flowers, to take pictures and to simply sit and marvel the plants around you and the views below."
"We visited the Ventura Botanical Gardens which is in the canyon directly behind the stately San Buenaventura City Hall. The day was cool and perfect for a mild walk up the gradual switchbacks. Several fellow sojourners commented that the recent rains had made it more beautiful and lush than they had ever seen before. It was great to get out into nature with my close-focusing 'manual' macro lens to capture the vibrant colors and bees busy spreading the pollen. The trails we walked had many plants native to Chile and crested at 300 feet."
"Beautiful somewhat mild hike, 2 mile loop, uphill for the first half, than all back down hill. Dog friendly. At the top you can continue hiking out of the gardens for more ocean views. I highly recommend."
