Not only does it maintain an air of history, but it can also be transformed to fit the occasion at hand. The rental fee was very reasonable for what you get in return. Plus, they were a pleasure to work with. Their communication was timely and I always felt that I could pick up the phone and give them a call. You cannot go wrong hosting your next event at HRC."

"It was a great pleasure working with the HRC as the venue for our family engagement and birthday parties over the past 2 years. The staff couldn't have been more gracious or helpful, always checking in to make sure any of our questions were answered and providing suggestions to make the events as seamless as possible. The setting was beautiful--old world elegance--where our guests could enjoy refreshments on the patio before moving into the main ballroom for dinner. We had a pianist at the events and opened the French doors between the patio and ballroom, allowing the music to be appreciated in both locations. The Hillsborough Racquet Club is a lovely, lovely hidden gem for a special occasion; one your guests will fondly remember for years to come."

"Our non-profit organization hosted a luncheon and bridge tournament at the Hillsborough Racquet Club in September for ~100 guests. Every aspect of the event was perfect. The venue is just stunning and is centrally located. The rental fee was very reasonable, and the number of rooms makes the venue quite versatile. The outdoor entry patio is welcoming and elegant, and the easy parking made our guests very happy! The site manager, Cindi Fleming, was great to work with and made a number of helpful suggestions for our event. She was an excellent resource throughout the day. We used our own caterer, Michiyo Lappen of Vienna Catering to provide the lunch service; she was also a joy to work with. The food was excellent, and our guests were very happy with their meal. "Hidden gem in San Mateo County! HRC is a fantastic wedding ceremony and reception venue with an all inclusive rate that included early set up, a small outdoor space, on site parking lot, many different indoor rooms for use (including a usable kitchen for your own selected caterer), and beautiful indoor chair and table rentals. I had my eye on this venue way back in 2010 and was so fortunate to be able to get married here in 2021! Claire is the best! She's goes above and beyond to help clients with their needs and provided great communication throughout the entire process. We also really appreciated having Cindi on site to help direct guests, manage the parking lot and overall keep things smooth day of. We did a smaller ceremony in the Dining Room and it was tight but they made it happen for approximately 90 seated guests. We fit everyone comfortably with a dance floor in the Ballroom. There was definitely room for more tables but we had trimmed our guest list down since 2021 wasn't the best time to gather. We loved having a separate Bar Room and also made use of the Dominoes Room for our photo booth. Cocktails Hour and our after dinner Churros Truck was perfect outdoors in the front entrance. The only thing we didn't love was that it gets quite warm in Hillsborough in the late summer and the rooms were a bit stuffy with zero AC. We learned this during our final walkthrough of the space and immediately purchased some large Vornado fans for our Ceremony and Reception areas. We missed getting one for the Bridal Room but we suggest that you do!"
