"Think twice... Read this & consider if this is would be acceptable for your needs. Purchased a forklift on 6/15. To start the unit was "in stock" was not actually delivered until 7/15 multiple calls & emails chasing them for communication & answers. That should have been enough of a warning. On 8/17 we reached out to them for assistance as a starter bolt fell completely out of the unit making it unusable. A tech did not arrive to resolve this issue until 8/25. Zero sense of urgency to stand behind their products. We were forced to rent equipment while the Otay unit sat broken. Now 10/18 forklift will no longer start. Had a local tech come out & found the starter was loose... & that the bolts will not tighten properly due to bad threads. The wrong length bolt had been used. Assorted washers used to try to correct the bolt length.. i wish there was a way to add pictures to this review.. Advised Otay of this. Many Phone calls & emails. Finally were advised that they are not interested in addressing the issue. We were dealing with Oscar. Asked to speak with a supervisor to discuss this. Was advised the contact & extension for Rick. several calls & voicemails. None responded to... To be fair the "Stated warranty" has expired. however if you claim that your QC team checked over the unit prior to delivery. Then had a odd failure of a starter bolt falling out. Supposedly resolved by your tech a reputable company might at the bare minimum offer to review & quote repair.."

"I just have to say I have dealt with many different forklift companies in various states and this company is on point with what they sell. I buy and sell equipment for a living. I have bought several different pieces of equipment from Otay Mesa Sales and the have stood behind every sale. They sell over 100 lifts a month and these ratings are small compared to how much volume they do!! I am saddened to see some of these comments. This is used equipment. Rick stands by his word and the people here are great. Thank you all for selling the products you sell."

"I purchased a forklift for our new Californnia location in July of 2015. Nice piece of used equipment. No problems. I decided to purchase another one for my Carrollton, Tx location in January of 2016. Had lots of issues and ended up sending it back for repair. They drug their feet and weren't the friendliest, but we got it done. I purchased two more in January of 2017. James didn't return my email till I copied his boss on one, they then sent me two different lifts than what I requested. Now the chargers are set up wrong. I ask for help in resolving the charger issues. Nobody calls me back from the salesman, to his boss, to the owner. Its been a week and I reached out to all three. I thought at least the owner would call back a customer that bought 4 lifts from him. Needless to say, there wont be a fifth."

"BUYER BEWARE!!! CAUTION! these guys are SCAMMERS. USE A CREDIT CARD SO YOU CAN DISPUTE THE CHARGES. What a joke, if you want broken, leaking equipment then buy here. No one will call you back they will shuffle you around and avoid your calls and emails the minute they get there scamming hands on your funds. These guys invoiced me on 2 forklifts $10,000 and then delivered a GAS old military issued unit with fresh paint on it and a second lift that didn't even start. I was supposed to get propane lifts. The other lift they dropped didn't even start and the GAS lift leaked hydraulic and anti freeze fluid all over the warehouse. They sent a technician who said the repairs needed were so bad they had to take both lifts back to the shop to repair. Why would they even send such crap out?? They returned 3 weeks later with our "repaired lifts" they barely started and were leaking all over the place, that's when they stopped responding to our calls, voicemails and emails. A few days later our warehouse worker had a under capacity load on the lift and the forklift snapped the bridal in two dropping the load and nearly killing another worker. STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS."

The equipment has always been in excellent condition, a huge plus! Whenever I reserve a lift with them, I do it with the confidence that comes from working with a company that treats its customers with respect and honesty and always does as promised."
