Reviews of Jang Su Jang
"Here is another Restaurant find tgat I loved yesterday . We were in Manhattan beach looking for a place to eat and remembered going to Da Maat a long time ago. Well it so happened that it clised down and this Restaurant opened next door. Very clean and spacious .Tge staff are pleasant and very helpful, service and food were amazing . Worth a try if you want Korean food."
"We really love this restaurant. It is a Korean restaurant and it’s mildly expensive but it’s very good. Actually this restaurant used to be a few doors down in the mall but now they’ve blown up and taken the corner spot. I recommend you come and try it and you get the rib beef and the pancake Korean style And also you can have some tea with your meal. It’s gonna make it delicious. So the next time you want to get Korean food come over and try this restaurant because you’ll be really delighted. Let the falcon fly!"
"The restaurant was very clean and the staff were very nice. I had a medium-spicy seafood & beef soon tofu. It was very tasty. We definitely will go back to the restaurant for other menu."
"We are fans of the old Torrance Da Maat and Jang Su Jang in the Bay Atea, we are so excited that they expanded and slightly moved to the new larger corner spot. The main reason we like it is they offer wider selections of Korean dishes beyond the typical tofu, BBQ, and bibimbap (which we love, too!) Our experience was excellent. There is always a line, but the 20 minutes wait was more like 10-minutes for us at 5:30pm on a busy Saturday. We tried the following: - Ddukbokki : rice cake and fish cakes in sweat and spicy soup. This is #7 on the appetizer side, served on a fire pot. It’s highly recommended, especially on a cold evening. It’s not too spicy. I especially like the al dente rice cakes! - Hamul Pajeon: seafood pancake, #6 on the Appetizer side. Always good for each person to have one and take the rest home! - Beef Dolsot: the bibimbap served on a hot stone bowl, choice of beef, chicken, pork, or vegetarian. It was delicious! - Woogouji Galbitang: beef rib soup with cabbages, #5 on the right hand side. This one didn’t standout compared to other amazing dishes. However, I do like the soup and the beef rib was tender and tasty. The new location still has the wall of bowls as decor, but it’s much brighter and ‘open’ than before. I immediately noticed the seats are more comfortable as well. Food was served very quickly, first the complimentary small appetizers (7 dishes). The rest of the dishes also all came out pretty quickly. This would work well if everyone orders their own, but we were doing family style, next time, we would have them serve in two batches so we can enjoy some dishes first. Tips: There are two rooms that can be reserved for parties. The inside room fits 16, it’s a private setting especially with the door closed. The outside one fits 22, it’s surrounded by glass windows so it’s very nice and bright though less privacy. Parking: plenty and free. Ps, we also met the owner/manager, Heyoung, she was warm and friendly, offered to pack our to-to items."
"I had the Pork Tofu Soup / Medium Spice with a raw egg. The raw egg cooks in the soup because it is served to you still boiling. Lots of Tofu in a nice broth which is served with lots of different kinds of Kimchi side dishes which are all very tasty. The restaurant was very busy at lunch time during the week but they still had a seat for us and the service was excellent. Try it, I think you'll like it."
