"Around when I had turned 18, I developed an array of new and concerning mental struggles and symptoms that my therapist and nurse practitioner at the time could not fully treat. I was in a very rough period in life and I desperately needed an evaluation. In November of 2020, I decided that seeking higher mental health care was the best step to take to aid my mental health journey. My therapist recommended Bearden Psychiatric, I was interested and my therapist contacted them and requested some paperwork to be sent for me to fill out. After my information packet was sent, communication went to a hold with no provided reason. It was not until two months later I finally got a video appointment to briefly introduce myself to an employee. And after this appointment, I had to wait five more months to actually have the evaluation done, or what these folks consider an “evaluation.” I was given a bubble sheet with pages of questions about certain thoughts, behaviors, and emotional/behavioral patterns that seemed relatively standard. After completing these questions, I assumed that I would be given a more extensive screening and possibly help from a licensed psychologist because, after all, this is supposed to be a psychological evaluation. I did not receive either of these, except the only other test I was given was an IQ test. I would say that this would not be beneficial to my evaluation and that I need different tests done, but I cannot come to this conclusion yet as I still have not received my “test” results yet from Bearden. I called MANY times and did not receive the results to the services I had received. This was all back in MAY of 2021. am a young autistic girl on Tenncare, I can’t afford better insurance because of where I am in life. I was unfortunate to put my trust into this place and I don’t recommend it for anyone who has a lower income. They will throw you under the bus by providing as minimal “tests” as possible. I never got to speak to a psychologist. This place was a sad excuse for psychological services and beyond disappointing. I’m still seeking the psychiatric help I deserve from other places."
