"I called the Kirby Kroger pharmacy asking if they would be able to help me at 7:00pm (which is when my GPS showed that I would arrive), and I asked because I had found out that they closed a 7:00. A woman answered the phone, and I gently explained how it was urgent that I got my medicine tonight because I am extremely ill with both the flu and strep viruses, and all I said was "I understand that you close at 7:00 sharp, but if you wouldn't mind making an exception for me and helping me at 7:00-7:01 when I arrive, I would appreciate it so much." I wasn't being rude or belligerent in any way whatsoever. Then, the woman rudely interrupted me and snapped back, telling me they do not make any exceptions and that unless I can show up before 7:00, they will not help me. It isn't that she said no (because I was fully prepared to just go home and wait until the morning), but rather it's the way she was speaking to me. She practically snapped at me! And then she bluntly said, "If you want to speak with my pharmacy manager, I can let her know—but she is on the phone so you will have to wait." I hesitated and responded, "No it's okay, I can just come early in the morning I gue-", and then she just rudely hung up when I was mid-sentence! This is the first review that I've ever left, which is really saying something if I feel the need to leave one for this issue... but that woman's customer service skills were awful. Complete lack of tact or remorse."
"I've had numerous friends and family tell me never to go to this kroger and the other day I got first hand experience as to why not. Since my kroger was shut down(:poplar/kirby) for remodeling this is where I went to grab the 8 piece fried chicken. Usually there are some put out but there wasn't any so I asked the guy if there was any available he said no. Yet there was 2 hotel pans of cooked fried chicken on his station. I look at him and he continues to ignore me. This kroger is horrible"
"This will be my last time shopping or having medications sent to this Kroger pharmacy. The young lady on the drive-thru on today was very unprofessional. First I sat there for about a good ten minutes and was never acknowledged or greeted while she walked back and forth pass the window. I sat a few more minutes and rung the bell. Another person picked up and said he’ll be with me in a moment. She finally comes to the window picks up the phone and says I SEEN YOU! I just stared like okay that’s how a patient gets greeted now a days. Once she left the window again and came back she says everything you need in the bag. It doesn’t cost a thing to be nice especially in customer service! Update: I decided to give this pharmacy another try on today! Unfortunately I dealt with the same issue with the same person! Waiting on line not one person acknowledged me after waiting about ten minutes went to the drop off counter waited a few mins the same person STAR says May I help you like I was bothering her. I said yes I need to pick up she says you need to go down there! I said well I did and waited and no one asked did I need help she says well you need to go over there! Went back to the pickup counter I was helped by Tonya she was pretty nice there was a problem with my RX and wouldn’t process For my medications. Express scripts advised that the pharmacy give them a call to push my RX through. I never seen a call made the pharmacist talked with my far from the counter and stated you need to bring your prescription card in. Why the call wasn’t never made? Don’t discuss what I need to take care of while other patients in the waiting area! I’ve decided to move my pharmacy from Kroger. I shouldn’t have to deal with the same issue and the same attitude from the same person each and every time! Maybe some customer service training will help them!!!"
"I have been using this Kroger pharmacy for years (even though I live 30 minutes away) because I used to receive great customer service. In the last few years (pre-COVID), customer service has gone from great to absolutely the worst I have received anywhere. The staff members are consistently rude and unprofessional. I have asked for management information several times and been told simply that I would have to come in or call back when they were available. I have had a staff member try to turn me away when I had been in line for 10 minutes because it was exactly 6:00 when it was my turn. I have had coupons refused, been loudly complained about by staff members, and when I asked if I could transfer my prescriptions to another Kroger, was told, "Sweetie, you can transfer your prescriptions wherever you want." I would somewhat understand the rudeness if I was an unpleasant or overly entitled customer, but I try to be understanding since I also work at a customer-based business. It is absolutely shameful that Kroger and the pharmacy's management allows their staff to be so unprofessional. That lack of professionalism may be due to a negative working environment or underpaid employees, but, either way, it should be handled by Kroger and not spill over into how customers are treated, especially in a medical environment. I've thankfully transferred my prescriptions and sincerely hope I do not experience this same treatment. Edit: I transferred my prescriptions to the Poplar Plaza Kroger location, and customer service there has been AMAZING. I highly recommend anyone who has dealt with the same subpar service transfer to that location."
"I had been avoiding the Covid-19 vaccine because I was afraid of the new technology. The Johnson one is basically the normal flu shot with COVID instead of flu. So, I asked for that one in such a way that the pharmacist understood how afraid of the others. She TOOK THE TIME to show me the vile she was using. I didn’t even ask her to do that, on the way in I did consider asking beforehand. Then she took the time to talk about the Johnson and showed understanding of my fears and didn’t try to talk me into the vaccine that I was “deathly “ afraid of. That was usual respect given to a patient and I really appreciate it."
