"On 8/9/21 the stylist/owner exposed my stepson to Covid and violated the Alameda County mask mandate during a haircut two days before school started! When she told us of her positive Covid status we asked if she was wearing a mask as the law requires (Alameda County Health Order 21-03, effective 8/3/21), she said "no, I never have" and that you "assume the risk" when coming in. Really? No, we don't assume the risk when you willfully violate the law while you hover over a client for 45 minutes breathing in their airspace. She also said she has “done the research” about masks and their ineffectiveness. I DON’T CARE if you disagree with the law or believe that it is ineffective, IT IS THE LAW and as a business you have a responsibility to your clients and the community at large to FOLLOW THE LAW! To make matters worse, my stepson told me that although he was wearing mask when he entered the salon, he was told that he could take it off during his haircut! So, this person violates the law and tells a child that it is OK on her premises for him to violate the law too! Three days later he tested positive for Covid, feels like he "is going to die", will miss most of his first two weeks of high school and may have infected countless friends and classmates. Unbelievably selfish and irresponsible for this person and business to put their clients and the community at risk like this. They have been reported to the state licensing board for gross negilgence and gross indifference to public health."
