"Bad business practices BEWARE! Daughter very ill ( ended up positive for Covid) called Monday night to cancel her Tuesday night appt which left plenty of time for them to fill that spot since she would’ve been the last appointment of the night. I’m trying to keep the story as short as possible since a lot of back and forth but to sum it up she spoke to the manager who is extremely rude trying to quote the policy that no matter what she would be charged the full amount for the appointment. I guess my daughter explained that she called Monday. to cancel her Tuesday night appointment that shouldn’t be considered a same-day cancellation - the manager agreed to only charge 50% for the appointment which was still $156! I was a A hairstylist for over 20 years and had my own business and I would never want to lose a client over $156. The appointment was going to be rescheduled anyway not like she was never going back! My Daughter wanted to let them know how ridiculous it was so she said OK fine you’re charging me for the appointment then I’ll just come in sick. Which was not going to happen But to show that even if she didn’t cancel and kept her appt they would not allow her in so why charge?! So I offered to go in her place since I need a color and they said no the appointment was filled. So now the appointment was filled? So why the $156 charge? No one is out money here but my Daughter?! I ended up texting the owner because my daughter was to sick to deal with it and got nowhere. She could care less the situation … just wanted the money. I am just extremely baffled and disappointed that my daughter was treated this way as sick as she is. who does this? who tells a client that they need to be “held accountable” because they have Covid and cancelled an appt with 22 hours notice!!! yes, believe it or not that is what the manager said to my daughter! Please be sure you read the cancellation policy before you step foot in this place because no matter what happens you will be charged for an appointment oh, and if you have a Tuesday appointment you’re really screwed because they close Sunday and Monday so if you call on those days to cancel it’s technically considered the same-day appointment cancelation and you will be charged! Ridiculous business practice!"
"I came for hair color n highlights and wasn’t happy with what I got. After many email exchanges they finally called me in to say not much can be done unless we take color out and do again and I told them that this might make my hair quality bad but they ignored.Lots of uncomfortable exchanges happened and I should have walked away but I did not my bad !! I did get lighter hair lights but my hair is now like burnt hair!!"
"Walking into Salon Vivace is like walking into home! The style and vibe of the salon is so warm and welcoming. My daughters and I have been clients for over 10 years and we love the philosophy behind how they continually teach and train the team. The Kevin Murphy products are my favorite too! And especially love that it is family and locally owned! You won’t be disappointed…Rachel, Macy, Savannah, Lexi, Michaela…everyone is fantastic!"
"I had a good experience with Lexi for my haircut. So, I asked if this place does hair cuts for kids & babies. On their saying yes, I brought my 5-year old for a haircut with Lexi again - it was a good haircut (in spite of my kid's initial crying - due to her fear of haircuts). Because of having 2 good haircuts, I called and asked if Lexi and this place does haircuts for babies - my 16-month old son. I asked this question multiple times when I called for the appointment and they insisted and said yes, they have the expertise and do accept babies as well. I also asked the front desk appointment lady to call me back if Lexi wasn't comfortable with this haircut. They said it was fine to go ahead with the haircut for my son. So, I took him in. He was scared, and was crying. Lexi did her best, in spite of that, to start getting him a haircut. Although it was a little too slow for a little baby's patience, and the haircut had started looking like a girl's haircut, I didn't stop Lexi from going on since my son really needed this haircut (and they claimed expertise in this field). The haircut was being monitored by 1-2 people all the time, since I guess, they were scared in case something happened and would show up as witness or something in the worst case scenario. Anyway, I managed to keep my son occupied with some videos on my phone, in spite of the slowness of the haircut and lots of interruptions of all sorts. But then this lady who was cutting someone else's hair looked at Lexi and shook her head, indicating to ask her to stop. Lexi, the front desk person and a couple of others, huddled up on their own inside, and decided not to continue. BUT, they sent the front desk lady to talk to me - and the other lady who indicated not to proceed - was in full support. But neither one of them really told me - No, we are not going to proceed - they kept hinting at it and saying if the baby can stay still and silent (crazy, much!), we can continue. Ultimately, the lady that indicated earlier, came to me and said - Others come here for the experience and this is spoiling it for them. I was so upset and even mentioned that this was something THEY accepted expertise of, that we were customers too that they didn't bother trying to help well enough and clearly did a half-baked incomplete job, in spite of a private room being available if they were SO worried about "others' experiences". But they didn't care. I ultimately stood up and said that they can't expect a little baby, or a little kid, to stay still or silent through a haircut - they were super unreasonable and ridiculous, and have at this time, lost 3 customers (me, my daughter and my son) all in one shot. Note: The 2 starts I gave are for Lexi - she tried her best but I felt, was asked to really stop the haircut due to the liabilities they were scared of, and clearly of course, the lack of expertise. Also, I had to take my son (and will continue to take him) to another place to get his haircut completed. Terrible experience. I don't recommend this place anymore based on this."
