"Dr. Pei Pei Chang is simply an amazing specialist. Her staff was very attentive and friendly. During my appointment she explained things clearly, was very personable and takes the time to listen and answer any questions I had. I can tell that she’s empathetic and really cares about her patients But! ABOVE ALL else she makes going to the doctor into a comfortable experience. That’s really hard to find in this day and age. She’s also friendlier than Santa Claus. A++++++!"
"Your experience with Dr. Chang will be pleasant if the root canal is successful. I will say my encounter with her during the procedure was good. She made every effort to make me feel comfortable and at ease. Unfortunately it was the aftermath that was hell. About 6 weeks ago, I got a root canal with Dr. Chang. It was the beginning of a nightmare for me. The next day I was in severe pain. I contacted her and although she did the bare minimum to help, she came off as extremely arrogant & over confident. She told me that she has never had a patient in the last 22 years of her being an endodontist have pain after a root canal and I was the first patient to do so. I found out later through Yelp reviews, that was a blatant lie. Other patients have had severe pain after and contacted her for it. That made me lose complete trust in her. I knew she was liar then. She made it seem like I was the reason for the pain. Because I was nervous about the root canal, I was now in severe pain. Can you tell me a single person who looks forward to a root canal? Can you tell me anyone who is excited about a dental procedure? I don't know anyone who doesn't lose sleep over dental procedures. Yet it was my fault I was in pain. I knew at that point she will be useless to me and I then went to my primary dentist for help. My primary dentist felt horrible for what I was going through, was very apologetic because she referred me to Dr. Chang and did everything in her power to save the tooth & help relieve my discomfort. Unfortunately after 5 weeks of enduring excruciating pain, I reached my breaking point & had a complete mental breakdown. I was shaking, I was crying, I had a panic attack. The pain was so severe it traveled all the way up to my head to ears. I got another opinion from another endo who said I had the option of retreatment or extraction. At this point, I had given up and chosen the extraction. Am I upset with how all this played out? Absolutely! Did I endure weeks of torturous pain in attempts to save the tooth when it ended up being extracted? Yes! Did Dr. Chang ever call me back 3 days post root canal to check up on me? I never heard back from her. When a patient is hurting, they expect empathy from their doctor. Dr. Chang has a long way to go and her arrogance needs a reality check. Mistakes done by her: 1. Advising me to not take antiobiotics prior or after the treatment. She told me she had cleaned the infection out and I didn't need antibiotics. My mom immmediately said that was a huge red flag. Dr. Chang told me to take the antiobiotics 2 days after my root canal when my pain didn't subside with the ibuprofen plus tylenol combo she recommended. 2. Acknowledging that the root canal wasn't successful. 3. Didn't educate or tell me about post endodontic flare ups. 4. Discouraging me to go to my primary care dentist because she was the 'specialist.' I would not have written this review if she handled my situation with more sensitivity. My psychological state has been severely affected by the pain I have suffered. At times it was so bad, it brought me to my knees in tears. It ruined my holidays with my family and lowered my quality of life. Have some compassion for others. Just because pain is not visible doesn't mean it doesn't exist. And just because you've had 100 successful root canals, doesn't mean 1 can't go wrong."
"Dr. Chang, in my view, is outstanding. I have had two root canals and the care I received was excellent. The office is warm and welcoming with Diana greeting you warmly as you arrive and dental assistant, June, making every effort in her kind way to make you feel comfortable. Dr. Chang is thoughtful, kind and takes time to explain everything fully. She even contacted me at home, during her lunch break, when I had questions about an upcoming procedure. There was no pain with either root canal and both times she called me at home the next day to see how I was doing. Dr. Chang is exceptional and I would recommend her to anyone."
"Excellent experience. My 12 year old child needed a root canal. I was very apprehensive as he he had a hard time getting numb. He had no issues at all, I was so impressed with both the doctor and the dental assistant. Would 100% come back if we needed work again"
"-Stars 0 Very unprofessional and not there to help you at ALL! Went in for my consultation appt. had to pay $300+ when I have 2 insurances okay 1st red flag. Booked my treatment apt. forgot to ask what my out-of-pocket would be so I called them. I talked to someone and she took my information and said someone will call you with that. NO ONE EVER DID 2nd red flag. I called them back after waiting 2 weeks. Talked to the Office Manager (that was very rude and disrespectful not helpful at all) asked her if she can tell me how much I will be paying for my visit and she said I can't do that we are not allowed to "What". I told her how are you not allowed to if the treatment is for me. She went on to say oh because you have 2 insurances it's hard to tell. How is that I asked? She went on to say we are in network with 1 of your insurances but not the other "okay" and she still couldn't tell me how much they will bill my plan.I don't know of any Office Manager/ Dental office that say that, 3rd red flag!! This office really needs to get on board with 2023. If you don't care about pay $$$$ and want to getting shocked with the price go there! I will definitely let ALL of my friends and family members know NEVER to go there!!! I canceled my appt asked to have my $300 x-ray sent to me and found a WAY BETTER OFFICE that is actually there for the patients! Sounds like a very shady scummy office."
