"For my second Twist appointment I was finally ready to go with shorter hair. Julianna proceeded to give me a great cut that met all my requirements. But the proof of a good haircut is in the at-home styling, which is why I wait to review my cuts. And all I can say is, Wow! This is a magic haircut! In the past month I have been able to style this cut in a variety of ways, from loose curls to loose waves to partial and almost full updos to a sleek flip, all with NO heat styling, using only roller clips, or a comb, or the occasional brushing, or even just my fingers. It is no exaggeration to say that this is the best haircut I have ever had. My issues, as before, are still with the products: 40 minutes after having Julianna show me how to finger style the new cut, my hands and then my scalp had a bad contact dermatitis reaction. At that point I belatedly read the ingredients list on the new (to me) styling products that Julianna had used and found that one has an ingredient I’m allergic to while the other has at least one ingredient I may be allergic to. (Hyper-reactive skin is no fun for me or for a stylist!) Fortunately, I was able to get back to Alameda within 30 days, and Tyler processed my unopened product return with a smile and no questions asked. After 2 cuts I’m a believer in Twist Salon’s philosophy and the expertise of the staff, and only hope that I can continue to get my hair cut there without the use of products that irritate my skin. Here’s hoping that we can work that out. I’m looking forward to my next wonderful Twist experience! Anne"

"Julianna was amazing! This was the best haircut and styling experience at a salon I have ever had! Julianna was so warm, easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and helpful in answering all of my questions. I have loose waves and was nervous about coming to a salon that specializes in curly hair, but Julianna made me feel like I belonged and that my wavy hair was beautiful. I had so many questions and Julianna encouraged me to ask them and answered them in a kind and supportive way. She worked with me to figure out what I wanted but also offered her own expertise as to what would look/feel best. I never felt pressured to do anything I didn't want to do and felt comfortable the entire time. Everyone else I interacted with in passing at Twist were so kind as well. I highly recommend Julianna and Twist to anyone like me who is on their wavy hair journey and wants personalized education about how best to take care of and style your hair!"

"I’ve been coming here for years and seeing Tami for cutting and coloring my super curly hair. She has been astounding, I feel I must have reviewed her here before! I just went today after a year and a half and booked with Nicole and she was equally as amazing! Everyone working here has such passion for curly/wavy/coily hair and you feel welcomed from the moment you enter. I had Kenya style my hair today and I can tell it’s going to last forever!
