"Please stay away for your own sake! ESPECIALLY APARTMENTS 1312, 1212, and 1112. These apartments were cheaply renovated months ago, and virtually nothing works in any of them. And believe me, the leasing office has no interest in helping you out. There are lots of reasons. Firstly, they do not inspect apartments before move-in (they will lie and say they do. They inspect the apartment when it goes on the market, but don’t ever check again. Which can be months). When I moved in the apartment had not no heat, no hot water, no cable hookup, the front door didn’t latch, and a lot more. After all that, the lady at the leasing office didn’t apologize and was argumentative (her name’s Kim). Lastly, stupidly, I’ve been living here for a while. They arbitrarily raise the rent on each tenant when it is time to renew. They know how stressful moving is and use that against you. PLEASE STAY AWAY! UPDATE: We've been in apartment 1312 for three days. Thankfully we now have heat and hot water, and the door now properly latches. However, we still have no cable hookup, and the leasing office cannot get anyone to install it. They literally rented us an apartment without cable or internet capabilities. We have to pay (out of our pockets) for Xfinity to come out and install a cable hookup. They claim they will reimburse us; we'll see. We also still have a broken washing machine, a loose dishwater, broken ice machine, several lights don't work, a window is mounted backwards and cannot be latched, and an electrical outlet is missing it cover and is loose in the wall. It's almost noon and they finally got the maintenance people to come to the apartment. I want to be clear. The maintenance people are great, It's the leasing office that is the problem (both Jamie and Kim really dropped the ball and have refused to take any responsibility. I eventually got a tepid apology via email from Kim which I actually appreciate as it's the only apology I've gotten). Again, the maintenance people are really nice, hardworking, and competent. I wish they could buy the complex and run it themselves as the current ownership, management, and leasing office are either apathetic, lazy, or incompetent or some combination of the three. (in the leasing office I'm specifically referring to Jamie and Kim who seem the be the ones in charge. I have had good experiences with some of the other people in the leasing office). Ugh..."
"While I love my apartment and the location, the leasing office is the worst in the city. They have no respect for their tenant and answer only to their corporate AI set rates & rules. It's the housing equivalent of only speaking to a machine."
"I’ve been at Hayes House for 3 years and just signed a new lease for another. I’m moving into another unit with more space now that I’m working, but my current one had been a good fit while I finished up grad school at Vandy. It’s not only a great location, but Jamie, the leasing consultant, especially makes sure that everyone is taken care of. She always follows up on my work orders to make sure everything is correct, is extremely timely, and makes an effort to build rapport with the tenants here! I haven’t had any major issues and most have been taken care of by maintenance the same or next day. Definitely recommend!"
"I absolutely love Hayes House. It has been a great landing spot in Nashville, especially regarding safety and location. The location is fantastic and the amenities are supreme! The pool is always so clean and the courtyard is so calm and welcoming, even when placed beside one of the busiest streets in the neighborhood. The apartments in the older buildings are absolutely adorable and give a very homey vibe, complete with checkered kitchens and beautiful hardwood flooring. While the pool can get noisy, the walls are rather thick, so it is rare to hear neighbors unless they are directly outside the window. I never hear upstairs neighbors. The covered parking is also a huge plus, especially when working so early in the winter time!!! The complex is also gated, and pretty tough to get into if you don’t have an access card, so it feels quite safe. Very thankful for this little gem in Nashville!"
"The rent they charge here is a premium but the apartments are barely holding together. I live in building 1 and we’re consistently had plumbing problems from toilets that won’t flush, water pressure in the sink so low it barely trickles, and a burst water heater that flooded the hallway. Not to mention the four times they’ve had to shut off water to the entire building. They get the second stars for being fairly responsive to maintenance requests although they left us with a clogged toilet stinking up the apartment for a full weekend since having a second bathroom made it not an emergency apparently. Also, they forgot the fans they set up to dry the carpet for two extra days and I had to climb over them to get to my room. All these issues and they still want to raise the rent 7% at the end of the year. Absolutely not worth it!"
