Reviews
"Great place to hit up restaurants with good food and live music. I enjoyed several bars and restaurants. B B Kings Blues Club was good with hood live music and good food. There are numerous places to visit and enjoy music and food like the Hard Rock Cafe, Memphis Music Hall of Fame, Silky O'Sullivan's to name a few. Easy access via trolley.other things to see within walking distance like the National Civil Rights museum."
"The downtown area was clean and felt safe with all the police presence. It was around 11:30pm when we were there and some places were wrapping up by midnight, which means we caught the final song for a few live acts. A handful of places stayed open until 3 but not a lot of places served food after midnight, so watch out for that! Shops don't open until 11am so didn't get a chance this trip, maybe next time!"
"The variety of bars, restaurants and stores is overwhelming. Needless to say, it is a crazy scene in the evening and during special events, such as the Liberty Bowl game. I can only assume that during warmer weather, the area is jumping. It appeared most of the bars had a window to order a drink or two and to keep walking the street. Yes, while I was there, walking the street with a cocktail in hand was permitted. The street was shut down to traffic for those types of gatherings, especially since they held a parade and the foot traffic was huge for that event. You can expect some characters here and there, but nothing that makes you feel uncomfortable or scared. Like most entertainment districts, coming with friends and family will make the experience more enjoyable and you'll have others watching out for each other. There are a few parking garages around the area, check for parking apps that support these facilities."
"A visit to the Beale Street is a must. We were fortunate to experience the area before the crowd of tourists arrived. Parking was surprisingly a breeze on a weekday. It was paid-parking though. Pay attention to the musical notes on the ground with the names of the well-renowned singer, songwriters. Make sure to allot time for a meal in one of the pubs along this street. We personally tried the mouth-watering ribs from BB King’s."
"We had a blast! I recommend staying at the Hampton inn and suites: Beale street. From there it is a 30 second walk to Beale. Lots of places to eat and drink. You can carry your drinks around a section of the street. There are a lot of law enforcement parents at night. It feels really safe."
