"I read a lot of horror reviews on Yelp about this place, and saw a lot of 1-star comments. I went in for a cleaning yesterday and came out in a better mood then when I went in. I’m anxious at the dentist, but the three woman team quickly soothed my worries and provided me with loving attention that they would give to their families. The Doctor talked me through what she was doing at each step and offered me an option to stop at anytime by raising my left hand. The receptionist, Olga, was kind and empathetic, and all three women attended to my needs when I was in the chair. Coming out of this dentist office, I recognized that a lot of the Yelp reviews are xenophobic in nature, mocking these women’s accents and saying it’s a “shop of horrors.” Hate has no home here and I am disappointed by my community in this regard. I’m so tired of upper middle class white men scamming me out of my money at the dentist. The folks at California Dental walked me through my treatment plan, and offered options that fit me and my budget. They showed me my X-Rays and spoke to my about any issues they saw (they also X-Ray only the problem areas to reduce environmental impacts of the X-Ray machine). Plus, the women listened to me and were empathetic about my anxiety and concerns. I truly appreciate the work and team at California Dental and will be returning for follow ups. Don’t let the hate on Yelp or Google steer you to a practice that will ignore your concerns and take your money. I highly encourage you to check out California Dental on California St."
