"They do not care about their patients or anyone’s mental health. The scheduling department is a joke. I’ve been hung up on by multiple staff members and they have threatened to take away my treatment because i expressed concern with my treatment. I was a patient for over a year, and was allowed to run out of meds multiple times causing bad withdrawals. If you miss ONE appointment they refuse to reschedule you… after over a year… The therapy is also a joke. They can’t get a single therapist to stay there so the therapy doesn’t even really exist. I went multiple times to this and never once had the same therapist. I was told they had quit. Theresa is a lovely psychiatrist, and the one saving grace of the mcnabb center. The problem is that the psychiatrists have no way to contact or schedule their patients. So you’re led back to the scheduling department that will give you the run around and then hang up on you. I am switching to a private provider in March because I refuse to let my mental health deteriorate due to this facility. This facility has not helped anyone that i’ve ever met. I’ve seen the front desk girl treat unhoused people like dirt and if i’m not mistaken, the mcnabb center is supposed to be welcoming and helpful to people of lower class. Save yourself the mental strain and go somewhere else."
"This place has to be the worst psychiatrist office in all of Tennessee. They hate their clients. The front desk lady argues with everyone and is super unhelpful. Every time someone asks for something like help or a document or to talk to someone she says she can’t or won’t do it. No one except the pharmacists and actual psychiatrists are nice to be honest. The psychiatrists aren’t even allowed to schedule appointments and they hate that as much as the clients do. So everything has to be scheduled through a prerecorded line and it takes at least 20 minutes to talk to anyone and when you finally get a person they’re usually unhelpful as well. There was one point where someone I know was prescribed meds and had a bad reaction and when I tried to contact the mcnabb center I couldn’t even get through to someone to ask what to do. I went 3 months without an appointment just because I couldn’t get through to anyone and I came in person and was told I can only schedule through the phone. It’s unbelievable how unhelpful and unprofessional this place is. They’re supposed to help people’s mental health and they make it way worse for most patients. They go through therapists faster than McDonald’s switches employees. Therapy here is a joke and even the psychiatrists know it is. I’m assuming no one here is payed enough because they either obviously hate their job or they just quit. I had three different therapists in the span of a month and was never able to progress because I just kept having the initial get to know each other appointment. Would not recommend this place to anyone who wants to make actual progress with their mental health."
"The HRM center on Springdale is a great place. They really listen to me and put me on the on the medication that they think is best for me. I like the fact that if I Miss my appointments I can get a chance to go get my refills until my next appointment. Now what I don't like is if need or want to speak to a therapist you never know which one you're going to get therefore you're having to start all over and tell the next therapist. One more thing is that they switch my caseworker around a lot but then again I'm use to it. Other than that they're great"
"Some of the administration have some horribly rude behaviors, and can ward off people no matter how much help they need. However, when you get past that point, this is the fastest I've ever received medication and help for the problems I've had. What would take months and sometimes years at other facilities (to sometimes no avail), this place was fast and to the point with my problems and I got medications that don't alter my brain chemistry in a harmful way. It's been a while since I've felt this "stable", and it's nice."
"As other reviewers have indicated, this facility can stop medication that they initially prescribed without warning, even if you suffer withdrawal symptoms, which can medically be very dangerous. They don't care if you suffer or wind up in an emergency room. Very negligent. Do not go here."
