"These guys are awesome ! After being lied to by HTTL, these guys took my Yukon, replaced my transmission cheaper then HTTL quoted for a "used no warranty transmission". Even after I started driving it, I had 4x4 issues. They fixed my transfer case at cost. I cannot possibly express how happy I am with Leons"
"These guys were great. Very friendly and accommodating. They installed a Ford Performance diff cover on my Raptor. Great communication."
"Leon's was having a grand re-opening as they just change ownership and everyone was extremely friendly and they were very efficient when looking at my Nissan Xterra. I got a free diagnosis on my vehicle and they were able to let me know that it was transmission related. They communicated with me through every step of the repair. I will forever be a customer and recommend them to all my family and friends."
"went to Leon's Transmission Services at the Simi Valley location. Apparently they are a franchise. Dan La Fleur is the owner of record at Simi Valley but I would think they have universal protocols in dealing with customers so I am posting this as you all need to know the type of work these people do. On Jan 28, 2020, I took my 2013 Cadillac Escalade in to get a new transmission from Leon's Transmission Services. The total bill was approx $4700.00. On February 6, 2020 my car broke down in Orange County as the transmission blew again on my Escalade. I had to have my car towed back to Leon's in the middle of my work week and therefore I had to obtain rental car. Dan La Fleur was reluctant to reimburse me for the tow and rental car as he argued that he was not responsible for the loss of my vehicle. Eventually, he agreed to reimburse me the $600 dollars for my inconvenience and fixed my Cadillac for the SECOND time. ON July 27th, exactly 6 months and 1 day after I originally had my transmission fixed I had it break down again ( A THIRD TIME) as there was shrapnel inside the transmission as I had brought it to the Cadillac dealership in Scottsdale Arizona because I was losing faith in Leon's Transmission services. Cadillac ran their diagnostic and confirmed the transmission needed to be replaced yet AGAIN. Being that I broke down out of state in Scottsdale, Dan insisted that I go see someone who can replace parts from "Atra Dealer" so that Leon's is covered for the work. Reluctantly, I agreed with Dan but I was apprehensive as I wanted to work Cadillac as they could get this done within 48 hours and do it right. However, Dan insisted I go with one of his referring shops as they warranty "Atra" parts. On July 28th, 2020 Dan sent me to Automatic Transmission Services in Phoenix who Dan referred me too to get fixed for a THIRD time. The problem was the new shop was so backed up that they couldn't look at the transmission until August 4, 2020 (8 days later! I have all this verified in writing by the new shop). In the meantime, I had to rent a car for work and I was incurring these charges which totaled close to $1000 for tows and rental car fees. On August 7, 2020 (11 days later) I picked up my car from Dan' referring shop for a THIRD time and 6 days later the transmission went out on me again. At this point, I have lost complete faith in any work that was done by Dan and Leon's Transmission Services or any company he referred me too. With complete frustration, I took my Cadillac into Cadillac dealer to get fixed the right way and they gave me a loaner vehicle and with their loaner I drove to Leon's Transmission Services on Friday August 14, 2020 to tell him the news in hopes that he would refund me my $4700.00 for transmission and my rental car fees. Dan La Fleur at Leon's Transmission Services denied liability and stated "he is no longer responsible for the transmission as it is now on the shop he referred me too." The new shop denied liability as Dan originally collected the $4700 for my transmission but seems to be pushing this off on someone else. I am writing this to save you the time, energy, and money by avoiding Leon's Transmission Services. I am out close to $10,000.00 because of these people. What a shame. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me directly if you have any further questions about my horrible experience. Michael and Jennifer Michaels Murphy"
"AVOID THIS PLACE! I spent over $5,000 and advise anyone reading this not to go here. I brought my car to them because this was a transmission place and my 1969 Chevy Chevelle was giving me trouble shifting into the gears and refused to go into 1st gear a few times. They rebuild my transmission, had me buy my own clutch & flywheel and parts, and that should be a red flag. The clutch setup required a balanced flywheel that should have been externally balanced. It was not made clear what to buy and I got an internally balanced as opposed to an external. They should buy the parts not have customers provide them! I was told it would be cheaper for me to buy the parts myself, but that is a laugh since they charged me an additional $350 “reduced” rate to change out the flywheel that they should have purchased in the first place. After going back 4 times because the same original problem existed they finally took it to another trans place who told me it was a bad shifter. Leon’s had my car 42 days and never did diagnose the shifter issue. When the new place installed the shifter they noticed a trans leak that Leon’s caused or did not fix. The new trans place billed Leon’s for the leak fix since they should have fixed it and repaired a stripped bolt Leon’s also did not fix. The owner of Leon’s named Dan also claimed I told him no hurry on the work but that was not true either. I said do a good job and take the time necessary. That did not mean 42 days! The new place said that they would have started looking at the shifter first not last. I noticed after the fourth time the car was returned from Leon’s the shift lever that attaches to the linkage was making a noise. I removed the boot myself at the base of the shift lever and found the two bolts loose. The shift handle was about ready to fall off! They also knocked loose my distributor cap breaking the rotor when the trans was dropped down. My car would not start because of that and he said a new cap was installed. That also was not true as I checked it myself. They had only replaced the distributor rotor that they caused to be broken. I also found out later that when a trans is dropped the distributor should be removed. The new trans shop said the shaft might even be bent so he looked into that. Why was that cap not removed as it appears to be a business practice to do so? I also had to replace the shift boot myself that Leon’s damaged with the three removals. Four month later I now had to put in a new clutch which the 2nd trans place said was, “burned out”. It had about 300 easy miles on it!?? My car is a classic and driven about 1,000 miles easy miles a year. So Leon’s must of screwed up the installation of the new clutch as well as all the other things above! DO NOT GO HERE!!"
