"Doesn’t worth it! Scammers! - since Lyft charges unlimited external fees and then gives the driver like 49% of total gross (that passengers paid), you have to payout the rental cost which is goes around $350 per week. It takes 3 days if you work full day, just to payout the rental car. - i have been charged for two more days of a new week even though i have preliminarily scheduled a return and did return the car on Monday, after one week of rental. Basically i have rented the car on previous Monday for one week and i was told that the earliest date for return was the next Monday, that’s what i did but yet was charged for another two days. Doing doordash instead is much better If you have an old car or a bike . Or do anything else but never go for rental with Lyft"
"This place is trying to charge me over $700 in detail services that are outrageous. I returned the car clean. Besides that, there's nobody to contact to dispute the charges. Since I'm no longer in california, I have no way of contacting this place. Lyft also confirmed there's no contact information for this place except a street address. I can't go there since I'm 2000 miles away. Avoid this place."
"SON GRADUATED BOOTCAMP @ MCRD 12/20/2023 WE WERE AT THE BASE 3 DIFFERENT DAYS... THE LYFTS KEPT DROPPING US (5 TO BE EXACT) AND WE WAITED OVER AN HOUR AND HALF BEFORE WE WERE ABLE TO GET A RIDE BACK TO A HOTEL AND THAT WAS FROM A FAMILY FRIEND THAT LIVES IN THAT AREA. THIS WAS RIDICULOUS. AND WE WERE NOT THE ONLY ONES HAVING ISSUES OTHER KIDS PARENTS THERE TO SEE THEIR KID GRADUATE AS A MARINE."
"Miss having a vehicle. I had a nice brand new Kona. I just wasn't able to make enough money. Some weeks, instead of cashing out any money I had to pay them for working for the week. At $488 a week, a person like myself, disabled and only available to work part-time it just didn't make good financial sense. I had to have surgery and turned the car back in but still owe them almost $500. Why would I pay $488 a week for a vehicle I have no ownership in and if im sick or something comes up my cash out of say $50-$100 a week ends up being a bill? It's just not right."
"The worst rental experience of my life. I finally was going to give driving for lyft a try since I'd heard good things from the other drivers I'd spoken with, so I decided to get a rental with them and was going to return the rental I have from Uber. Going over the initial information I was grouped with another person and we were told we were either getting a Kia Niro EV or a Hyundai Kona EV. I was given the Kona. The person training us had said they were basically the same car as Kia and Hyundai were owned together. I asked if the Kona had a frunk, as I'd been renting a Kia Niro with uber and loved that I could keep my purse and wallet up in the frunk so it wasn't in my car with the passengers. I was assured that yes the Kona had that feature as well. It does not. It also does not have the type c charging ports featured on the Niro's seats so that rear passengers can have fast charging for devices (something I've always offered my uber riders). The car I was given smelled horribly like someone had been smoking in it, which made it difficult to even sit in there for any period of time and it didn't help that it was a black car which trapped on heat and made that smell even more obvious. I had picked up the car Thursday afternoon around 4pm. I emailed them after hours on Thursday letting them know that I was very unsatisfied with the car I was given and asked if there was any way I could bring it back and exchange it for something else the next day. I received no response to my email, looked for a number to call so I could talk to someone before having to use personal miles to drive back over to them and ask in person since I'd received no response. Finding no number I drove back over to them on Friday, within 24 hours of having the car. I was basically brushed off and told that they would not exchange the car and I was still responsible for paying for this car and that they generally had a 7 day minimum but she would put a note in the system that they might be able to partially reimburse me for some of the week. I did 6 rides for lyft in this horrible vehicle while waiting to hear back from my email and then picked up my littles from school before going back in person. At least 1 of my riders noticed the smell because they commented on it and the first thing my littles said when they got in it when I picked them up from school was that this car stunk and was hard to breath in. Obviously I am going to be upside down on this and out a big loss due to not being able to stand working in such an environment. I guess that I will be staying as an uber only driver and keeping my rental through them as I haven't had any issues with their customer service and even though I am paying a higher price for the rental and not getting unlimited charging I am much happier in the car they have provided me and with their customer support and service in general. Lyft is missing out on having a 5 star, hard working driver because of this, but I'm not going to waste my time or money with a company who doesn't value their clients/drivers when I have another company who values me and I can earn with."
