E Z Smog Check

"Quick, friendly, and cheapest I found in the area. After calling around for pricing I decided to go with this little local shop. It's true that maybe a year ago other establishments in the area were only charging $30-$40 with a coupon, but that just isn't the case anymore, and EZ Smog was actually the cheapest at $60 all-in. The gentleman working was friendly and clearly communicated the pricing. Based on other reviews there have obviously been some issues with patrons understanding pricing, but it is literally written on the wall. He also made sure he asked if the car had recently received any major service, as this can also alter the results (pass/fail) of the testing based on what's been done, and can potentially require a re-test at additional cost. It's also worth noting that yes, he does have a thick accent, and that in no way detracted from my experience as some other reviewers have suggested. It's clear some of these negative reviews are just from people that don't understand the process and are unwilling to put any effort into communicating with other humans. I'll definitely be using their services again."

"Creepy. I asked if there was a cost after I filled out my private information on his form. Once I realized it was a cost I changed my mind. He wanted my info slip and I said no. Tearing off the form number and leaving his clip board, he still wanted my portion with the info on it. He wouldn't let me pass through the door and out of the office. He placed his hands on me and I called out for help to the other person waiting but he didn't hear me. I had to push my way passed the man working there since he was detaining me for no reason. Not even 1 star, zero"

"I have been coming here for years but won't be back. The gentleman who used to work there is no longer there. The new guy was difficult to understand with his heavy accent. But the final straw was every year I came to smog both of my vehicles, I was able to access a coupon - which now no longer available for the San Clemente site, only for Mission Viejo. On top of the loss of the discount, the prices raised from $39 to $51. The new guy did extend a $10 discount to me after another long time customer complained, so I would've had to pay $61?!?! There are too many other service locations within minutes with better prices. After 10+ years of coming here & recommending this place, I can no longer promote them."
