"My first review! My visit here last night was nothing short of a revelation in the art of sushi dining. Celebrating its 17th year, this gem of a restaurant has not just stood the test of time; it has set the bar for what authentic Japanese cuisine can embody. Though it is not your modern izakaya nor fine-dining luxury, it firmly facets itself as the "OG" restaurant in the diverse Japanese dining scene. Immediately upon entering, I observed details of its classic entity by old decos of art, calligraphy, signs, photos, and handwritten notes. It was an ambiance that exuded warmth. I immediately felt the history and dedication woven into the fabric of this place. The owners have crafted not merely a restaurant but a sanctuary for those who appreciate the finer nuances of Japanese culture and cuisine. I opted for the sushi combo course. Each piece of sushi was a testament to the chef's mastery over his craft, with every ingredient shining through in a delicate balance of flavors and textures with a properly curated course. All the nigiri boasted freshness in a blend of tastes that was above satisfactory by the plate. But what truly sets Sushi Anza apart is the heart and soul poured into every aspect of the dining experience. From the attentive, yet unobtrusive service to the meticulous presentation of the dishes, you can feel the love and dedication that the owners have for their craft.
