"I came with my sister for a fill and polish and they did amazing! She spent the time talking about how much better they did than the last shop and at a better price"
"These ladies are phenomenal. I am NEVER EVER disappointed! I won't go anywhere else"
"The bad outweighed the good for me at Nail Star sadly. The BAD: Sign said $27 for acrylic tips + $5 for French tips so that = $32, right? I asked for a manicure but all she did was trim my cuticles and started applying tips. I guess that "manicure" cost about $20 because the total came out over $100 for my daughter and I. My daughter got the same thing but was charged more because her natural nails were short. Not sure why that warrants an extra cost. I should also mention that our tips were short, and just French tips, so no extra cost for more polish, etc. The tips applied were too small for my nails and they did not bother trying to even file the sides to make it blend in. You can see this in the photos. My nails lasted a few days before breaking. I was on vacation, so not doing any work with my hands in any way. If I had been working, I doubt they would have lasted a day. After only a few days, my nails look so bad that I just want them off. Somehow even my cuticles look worse than before. I would rather wear press on nails than continue dropping a fortune at salons only to not be happy with the end results. I don't expect perfection by any means but nails done at a salon should stay on longer than press ons. I felt so bad for the tech telling me that people get their nails done on Friday and come back on Monday wanting their money back and are so mean and come in yelling. At first it sounded like people just not wanting to pay for their services, but now I wonder if it's because they are truly not satisfied and feel ripped off. I wonder if the tech thinks that the nails should only last for the weekend by the way she talked about it. We came in an hour before closing and she kept watching the clock and working faster. I do not recommend going anywhere near closing time. Honestly, I should have known better but was hopeful with trying a new salon. Tech tried to upsell us but would not say how much more things would cost when asked so we said no. She and the other tech started talking back and forth. They spoke perfect English until then, so I could not help but feel like they were talking about us. Overall, I would not recommend this salon. Nails looked good when I left, but upon further inspection I noticed a lot of flaws such as the acrylic looking bubbled and cracked, not being straight, etc. I feel like I paid way too much money for not great results. That seems to be the norm at all the salons now though. The GOOD: The tech was VERY sweet and friendly. She was fun to talk to. She had a great personality and kept asking if I liked everything. I noticed one nail was way longer on one hand than the other and she fixed it when I pointed it out. Salon seemed clean and well kept. She actually told me to wash my hands after she applied the tips. Last few salons I have been to just skip that and slap lotion on your hands and start painting with nail filings still all over your hands. So gross. Again, the bad outweighed the good for me here. I think the photos show why I was not happy."
"I had been coming to this location for many years, and I had no issues until recently. I had been getting my nails done there, but my nails would soon pop off shortly after getting them done. Therefore, I stopped going there for my nails, yet I continued for my eyebrow waxing and toenail polish change. Today, Saturday, August 12, 2023, I went in for a toenail polish change, and I was charged $20! I asked, “How much is a pedicure?” The owner of the business said, $30.” I told her, “Well if that’s the case, I should have gotten a pedicure rather than a polish change. She justified her price; I paid it and left while telling her, “I’m never coming back.” She knew she over charged me. A polish change is $8, and a white tip is $12. She gypped me."
"I had to find a new nail salon because my regular one had started to disappoint me with their work. I walked in on a busy Saturday morning and they immediately found me a spot on their schedule. Once it was my turn I sat down and told the ladies just what I wanted. It turned out perfectly! I have continued going since then. I just went today for my 4th time. Ann gave me some suggestions to help my nails last longer and look nicer longer. This is the first time in a long time my nails have naturally looked so amazing. The customer service, friendliness, and chill atmosphere will keep me coming back. (Along with the great work) This salon has been in business in the heart of Bartlett for many many years..... As the owner put it "Since before Mr. Clinton was in office" haha Oh and not to mention the amount of men who feel comfortable coming in to take care of their hands and feet blows my mind as well. This salon has a ture nostalgic old school feel."
