"Service is excellent and the dishes are different when compared other Mexican restaurants which mostly appear the same. Returned today for lunch and had the shrimp quesadilla and my wife had the steak fajita salad, both were excellent"

"Great food, and our waiter was great. There was a taller guy with a mustache and wore a polo shirt. I assumed he was the manager, but I heard him talking negatively about customers to the staff... specifically about a gentleman and his wife. I don't think he realized that I understood Spanish."

"The food was delicious! Seasoned to perfection. The chips and salsa was even good. Everything was cooked with seasoning and lots of flavor. My new favorite Mexican restaurant! I had to tell my friends and make a comment to let it be known. Hidden gem in Bartlett!"

"For me, unless it's really bad, Mexican restaurants are usually pretty good. El Idolo is actually pretty great. The chips were crisp and fresh with a good flavor, and the salsa was some of the best I've ever had at a sit-down restaurant. It had a little bit more kick than the bland offerings of a lot of Mexican restaurants, but more than that it too was flavorful. I tried their molcajete. It was a wonderful mix of chicken, beef, and shrimp with all the usual peppers and onions and seasonings, topped with a blend of cheeses. It was big enough for two, or for leftovers for one in my case. The rice was good, but the beans that came as a side were worth noting. They were quite tasty. I wasn't drinking, so I paired it all with unsweetened iced tea. Including tip the total was around $25, and as I said it's going to make two meals for me. I'll be in the area for a couple more weeks and expect I'll find my way back. Recommended."

"This was my first time eating here and I truly enjoyed my experience. Our waitress was awesome!!! We were seated and had our margaritas within 3 minutes. The portion size is huge and everything tasted great. I ABSOLUTELY loved the grilled shrimp it was perfectly seasoned and perfectly done. I wish I could give more stars."
