"Useless! VIP Petcare uses whiskerDocs as their call-in vet service. They say "No need to guess, just ask a veterinary professional" about whiskerDocs. However, it is 100% Useless! I called to ask about a minor foot issue on my dog and what type of cream might be best to use. The Vet Tech who answered could not comment at all.... Just said to see a vet. So I asked what she would be able to comment on then about anything? She said she could just give the next steps to do-which is 'see a vet'. Wow! no help at all."
"Please do not pay for this service. There are 2 reasons why this service is not worth paying for. 1) the service does not allow you to send video or a picture of a particular problem your pet might have. Without this, no online "vet" can make any educated decision on the best course of action. I tried to use IMGUR to show someone a problem my pet might have and they refuse to click on it or open it. Not something a real vet would do if they were there to help. 2) This is generally how most (if not all) of your conversations with whoever is on the other side will go: "It could be your pet has A or B. You should take your pet to the vet to be sure." Literally, it's the vaguest and liable-less answer they can give. You would find the same answers if you Googled your pets symptoms. The reason this service should exist, is to get legitimate advice from someone educated in the topic. Not to give the least helpful answer that would still involve you taking your pet to the vet. I ended up getting this service as a promotion (for free) when I registered my pet's chip. After 2 or 3 sessions, I knew how useless this service would be and made sure it did not renew."
"I called with a simple question and wasted 30 minutes answering questions that didn’t pertain to the situation, only to be told to go see a vet. I would have been better served by Google."
"I have been using WhiskerDocs for years and they are always very compassionate, patient and kind with me. They do exactly what they advertise, and seem to care very deeply and take what they do seriously and professionally. They even go as far as to ensure that the human is safe, when appropriate. Each time I've called, I've been deeply distraught with concern for our little loves (Who isn't when it's serious enough to have to call? They must hear a lot and are still so thoughtful and kind) and each time they have been very understanding and empathetic, and wait patiently when I need to take a breath to compose myself. We are very grateful to have WhiskerDocs there when we need them."
"I usually have a decent experience with calling Whisker Docs. However, today I called because I wasn’t sure if I needed to bring my dog to the ER. When I tried to talk to the vet on the phone and tried to explain the situation the Vet said this will go faster if you stop talking and let me finish. I was worried and understand I may have been rambling but the way she spoke to me was so rude. I wanted to hang up on her at that moment."
