"From sunrises, to sunsets, there is a lot that can be said about this particular spot on the island. It takes up 3 sides of it, giving two sides with rocks a great place for fishermen and to view boats coming into the harbor. Also, you can see spacex across the channel. The last side has beautiful beaches for swimming, shell hunting and seeing the oil rigs. There is a nice boardwalk along one side, and pavilions and a bait shop. There are lots of restrooms and bathhouses. There is a paved road all the way around the campgrounds easily accessible to all the points. There is also a boat dock. There isn't laundry, dog run, playground or pool here. There are so open spaces to run around. I absolutely love the free bus system! It will take you anywhere on the island and several places back ot mainland, like Walmart or HEB. There are tons of shops, restaurants, and touristy things to do like adventure park. Make sure to look up when turtles may be released, go for a drive in your truck on the beach and grill out, walk the boardwalk around the bird center. The lighthouse is a must too! Our rig was 47 ft long, 55 ft long with patio down. It was a big enough site to fit all of this l, and the truck up front parked sideways. Most sites are grass or dirt, with the famous spurs of texas. I do recommend a rug. We stayed December thru February. Always had our windows down, and no acs. Defintely book the monthly rate. For handicap standpoint, the park is fairly level and paved. It was very easy for me to maneuver around with my blind cane stick. There are ramps next to all the stairs. Our only downfall, was how the office was facilitated up front. There was a big mess up on day one of our arrival, and we paid way too much money. We spent the next two months stopping by the office, leaving messages and calling and leaving messages, also sent numerous emails. Teo days before leaving, we finally got the money sorted. It was very stressful on us. I thought it was terrible customer service, all in the end that now we have to wait 4 to 6 weeks to get back $450 in refund. I hope this all helps the next family for booking."
"Wonderful location. Poorly kept in some sections but not all. Confusing check in with no direction to enter park. Great price. No amenities."
"Vast RV and day visitor park on the southern end of South Padre Island. We visited for the afternoon in late December. We wanted to visit the UTRGV Coastal Studies Lab, but it was closed for the holidays. Enjoyed walking out onto the jetty. Water is a bit chilly in late December to swim, but a wetsuit will help take the edge off."
"Very well kept park. All workers are friendly and very helpful. Lots are nice size. Full hook-ups is a bonus"
"My favorite place on Earth right now. The island is remarkable but Isla Blanca Park is the jewel of the island. There is a fee to go in. I believe it’s $10 per car however, I have a yearly pass which is $100. The park has swimming and fishing areas. It has a rock pier that extends into the ocean. This area is known as the jetties. It is constantly getting boat traffic from commercial boats to private boats, jetskis and kite surfing which are a sight to see. This park has picnic areas with restrooms and showers throughout the entire park. There is a sidewalk that surrounds the entire park, which is perfect for biking, walking or running. There is a church for the residence of the park, however everyone is welcome. There is a memorial for those lost at sea & a Jesus statue. There is a small store that sells beverages and snacks near the Jesus statue. The left side of the rock pier is for swimming, while the right side of the rock pier has strong currents and waves, therefore be careful if swimming in this area. Here in the rock pier, there are constant dolphin, sea turtle, and pelican sightings. Don’t recommend walking out to the rock pier if it is a high tide and waves are strong as it is a dangerous combination. The sand dunes are not for climbing or walking. Please do not leave trash behind as there are many trash cans to dump your trash. Remember to love sea animals and give back to Earth/all by taking care of this area. Please do not discard cigarette buds on the floor or fishing gear. Once again, there are trash cans everywhere. Lastly, this area has a trailer park and in the beginning there is a donation box for books, leave a book take a book. Best time to go is during sunrise or sunset as view is an extraordinary one."
