La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham South Padre Island Beach 7000 Padre Boulevard, South Padre Island, TX 78597

"DON’T BE FOOLED BY PICTURES! I normally do not post negative reviews, BUT I must on this La Quinta at South Padre Island by the beach front. 6 months ago my husband and I stayed in this hotel on Aug 2023. I booked 2 nights for king size bed. Upon arrival no king bed was available, we ended with 2 queen beds and were told at front desk as soon a king was available we could move to it.we did get the king size the next day. Both rooms were awfully old and outdated, bed mattress old, the 4 pillows were useless and old. Being summer, the hotel was busy we paid over $800. The staff was great! BUT if you’re expecting a beautiful room as pictures show, don’t be fooled, hotel rooms are old. The main thing you’re paying for is the great access to the beach and fireworks display at Clayton’s next door. There will not be a next time for us. Pay the extra money at a nicer hotel at least you’ll enjoy your getaway."

"Is always the pleasure to stay at la quinta. Nice pool right on the beach and right next door to Clayton's which is the largest deck in Texas with great drinks and live music all the time."

"This is in a perfect location, it’s clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. However, the mattress was the most uncomfortable mattress I’ve ever slept on. The floor is likely more comfortable. I’m exhausted from tossing and turning. My back, neck, and shoulders hurt, and I’m not looking forward to attempting to sleep tonight. The blanket on the bed is thin, so if you are someone who gets cold easily, bring an extra blanket. You are next door to Clayton’s so be aware you will hear music until 2am, but it wasn’t loud enough to keep us awake. Had the mattress been more comfortable, I likely wouldn’t have noticed. I do wish they had more drawers for clothes storage, but I made it work with what I had. It’s an island so parking lots are small. You will find a space, but might have a bit of a walk. I would stay here again if I knew I could sleep next time."

"I wouldn't recommend staying here. We booked 3 rooms, 2 king balcony ocean views and one queen with 2 beds. The beds in the queen room were much more comfortable than the king beds that literally feel like hand me down mattresses. Don't even bother using the sofa bed, you can feel the springs in that and it's very painful. My back has been sore during this stay because of the king bed. The ac in one of the king rooms isn't as cold as the other king room. The doors have huge gaps at the bottom so you can see from out in the hallway. The bathroom in the king suite is very small compared to the queen room. I highly doubt I will stay here next visit since I usually vacation here at the island once a year. There was hair floating in the pool which was disgusting to see."

"This Hotel is located perfectly. My room was ocean view and I loved it. The Hotel is very clean and the staff Professional. Derek at the front desk was very helpful to me and my guest. I must say the breakfast was delicious. I give this Hotel 5 Stars and I plan to return in the yrs. To come. I highly recommend it. Janet B."
