"I have been here quite a few times and Ford has always been super top notch. Very friendly, knowledgable and always has a smile on his face. Highly recommend for all plant lovers!!"
"We have bought our Christmas Tree here for five years running. It's actually our family tradition for my birthday because my birthday falls during Thanksgiving week. This year our tree fully dried out weeks faster than all of the previous years despite doing all of the things necessary to keep a tree fresh for as long as possible (cut trunk, fed and watered, out of sunlight, and away from heating vents). I was really worried about our tradition being over but I cannot stress enough how above and beyond the customer service here is! I have only experienced customer service like this a handful of times in my entire life. I highly recommend that you shop here for all of your Christmas tree and year round gardening needs! And I'm happy to know they stand behind their products because next spring we have a huge landscaping project to get done - and I suspect we'll come here first! Thank you guys for being a stand-up company!"
"Thank you for allowing Youth Symphony of Denton to do their pointsetta fundraiser with you all! Our kids did great raising money for our end of the year banquet! You guys are AWESOME! Thank you Rylee for all your help!"
"Rhealee was amazing to work with! We utilized the Pick & Plant option and she helped us find the trees we were looking for, calling one in from another nearby store. It came within two days and was planted two days after that! The whole process was smooth and transparent in what we were paying for. We were provided options and information, but the decision was ours. The trees are happy in their new home :) Thank you Rhealee & Calloway's!"
"Calloway's Nursery offers a little bit of everything for those who love gardening and seeking a bit more unique selection of plants compared to a big-box retailer. The smaller size store that only sells plants, gardening tools and decor, and yard maintenance supplies keeps shoppers focused on planting and growing healthy blooms, edibles, trees, and shrubs. I particularly enjoy the outdoor shopping experience even when I'm actually inside the store because the walls open up all the way around the building. It might actually be garage-style doors instead of windows. Anyway, I find myself exclaiming even when I'm browsing alone, "is that a weeping yaupon?!" and "I finally found the clumping bamboo," or "Wow! That's a really large camellia!" Calloway's also has organic gardening products, a surprisingly large selection of high quality pottery, and workshops. The staff is usually very friendly with 1 or 2 people who really know about plants. The rest of the staff are akin to fast food and restaurant staff... very young and amateur but energetic, courteous, and happy to look up anything you want in the computer. Calloway's offers an online store at calloways.com that includes delivery as well as store pickup. I have found that even though they're website provides detailed description of the plants and products, it's really not designed to be used for someone who wants to browse, make selections, and drive to your local store to pick up, which is sad. I'm mean how many of you just wake up Friday or Saturday and say, "I think I'll work in the yard this weekend." And of course, no matter how open the store is, it's still crowded on the weekends, and I hate shopping during prime time. The website is unable to identify which items are in stock at individual stores until the item is added to the cart. Same day delivery is available for a whopping $85 if the product is available at your store, and the order is placed before 1pm. Otherwise, it's still 85 bucks plus cost of your items plus tax, and I would imagine a tip for the driver unless they drop off your merch, ding ding the doorbell, and run. For me, I like picking out my own plants at the store and curbside pickup or delivery works for other items especially if it's heavy. Unfortunately, Calloway's online shopping is "meh". Also, don't let the size of the store disillusion you to believe it's a boutique or specialty store. This retailer has many items that are available at any garden center, and the price is on the higher end. Calloway's features products on sale, but I've never said, "What a bargain!" and drop everything to get to the nursery for fear the great price will soon disappear. Do a fair comparison of the price by looking at the same plant from the same name brand seller or provider that consistently offers healthy, happy plants across multiple retailers like Monrovia, Better Home & Gardening Collection, and you'll see what I mean. Calloway's offers grass plugs at the store but not sod and like their large department store competitors, Calloway's very rarely if ever sells mature trees that doesn't require a decade of growth to achieve a floating orb around the twig that I would hesitate to call shade. With that said Calloway's is still way cheaper than a boutique, family-owned specialty nursery. I really like Calloway's. I recommend going to Calloway's when you need a little me time in the middle of the week or after work and instead of spending $50, $80, or $150+ at a mini spa for a chair massage and pedicure, go walk around Calloway's, look far and wide, and get a pretty plant that you can enjoy for years to come. Nothing cures the blahs like a stroll in a open air nursery, a little sweat, and some dirt under your nails, then relaxing as time slows down with your favorite beverage in hand and watching a plant change season to season as it grows."
