"Dr. Gutierrez is very friendly and tries to listen well. Unfortunately, I've had several moments with him where he clearly shows that he's out of his depth and is not up to date on the science. On two separate occasions, he ordered imaging tests for the incorrect part of my body. The first time I assumed he knew what he was doing, and when we got results for the wrong part of my stomach that didn't show the area in pain, I was very upset. He then ordered a CT Scan of the area- and put the wrong area on the form yet again. I asked the CT operators and they let me know that the area listed on the form would not show them the area of pain I had indicated, so they had to call him and get him to submit a new form. Then, getting test results from him has always been such a hassle. His office doesn't use a portal and doesn't send you results electronically- instead you have to get them in person or over the phone. It usually takes a week and half of me calling his office nonstop to get results, and on 3 separate occasions he lied and said, "Oh, I tried to call you but you didn't pick up." I had no record of that on my phone. On a couple other occasions he sent me to specialists for things he definitely should have known about. My dermatologist said verbatim, "I'm surprised your PCP wasn't able to diagnose this, this is very common. You should consider getting a different PCP." The employees at his office are nice, but obviously overworked and understaffed (which is his fault), and quite disorganized. They never answer my calls and they don't have a voicemail box, and they never answer my emails. In order to set an appt, I usually have to go to the office in person or else I'll never get it scheduled. Dr. Gutierrez is a nice guy, but if you have to go in for more than a check up once a year, I truly recommend using literally anyone else. It's been a frustrating 2 years with him and I finally found someone better."

They make it easy to set appointments and the follow up care and communication is the best I have experienced. He is punctual and tries hard to keep on schedule. No hours of waiting in the lobby to get to see him. I would give more than 5 stars if that was an option"

I always feel like a person there and not a nameless patient. He has probably saved my life with my blood pressure issues. His nurse , Desiree, is kind and efficient. I have moved from Austin to Salado and still make the drive because of the compassionate professionalism of Dr. Gutierrez."

"I am so glad I found Dr Gutierrez! I always am nervous about going to new doctors, but I hit the lottery with this one. Dr Gutierrez was awesome! First time ever that I felt like I was having a conversation with a doctor, as opposed to them just talking at me. Dr Gutierrez made me feel involved in my care and he listened. I really appreciate that. Second reason why this practice is at least 5 star, is the office staff. They were all extremely helpful and pleasant. I ran into an issue with insurance and the front desk and billing department helped me with it....and I appreciate that immensely. I've definitely found my new GP, and would certainly recommend Dr Gutierrez and his practice!"
