"Had to take a moment so as to not respond purely out of emotion. Today was the second time I've had my Great Dane/German Shepherd mix bathed here. The first time wasn't anything exceptional but we didn't have a bad experience. Today, I picked up my dog up about an hour and a half after they texted that she was done (the soonest I could easily get away from work). When one of the gentlemen walked her out to me, one of her haunches was clearly drenched so I asked for a towel so I could dry her off before getting into my truck (assuming it was water), the guy said "oh no, did she pee?", turns out that's exactly what it was. As it turns out, dogs are not walked at all during the day here because they do not have any sort of enclosed area to do so. When I scheduled this appt I asked if I could drop her off on my way to work and was told "yea, that's no problem". If I had been told "sure, but just fyi, they are kenneled for their entire stay" I would have rearranged my day. On top of an employee having no apparent issue handing off a urine-soaked dog after we spent $81 having her bathed, her hind end has been uncharacteristically weak for the couple of hours preceding this review. She is nearing 12 years old but has never had problems leaping into the back seat of the truck until today, when she didn't make it and I had to lift her in addition to her rear legs being weak and trembling. Her behavior makes me very suspicious that she was kept in a kennel that was too short for her. I don't believe that anyone here is intentionally malicious but I do think that the facility is lacking which leads to negligent care of animals left in their supervision. I will not be returning with any of my pets."

"After moving to the area I had to find a new groomer for my 2 dogs. Miika is 25lb & Raikou is 72lb they do amazing on both! Raikou is a rescue, he's very wary around strangers... but He loves coming here!! Their prices are fantastic!"

"I highly recommend Hair of the Dog. They are wonderful with my retired racing greyhound and with all the other dogs I have seen them with. I walk in and it is clear this is a positive environment full of people who love what they do. This shows with the quality of their craft and their kindness to the dogs (and their anxious owners). Ember loves going in and getting a bath and nail trim and she always comes out so happy, relaxed, and smelling so good! Stop searching. This is the best pet grooming establishment in town. I almost forgot to mention...they carry the BEST treats. I re-up my supply of Ember's favorites each time I visit."
