"~ for context . . . ~ I initially took my G-Shock to have some new hands and hour markers exchanged from the OG ones in the Casioak that I owned to Comacho Watch Repair and to also replace the battery on my vintage Seiko Chrono . . . ~ the battery change was completed by Mr Comacho of CWR and as he inspected the G-Shock, he stated that if I would be interested in having it looked over and worked on by the professionals at Renowned Repairs and that Jaime (Master Watchmaker) was known as an expert in the G-Shock field and I agreed as I trusted his recommendation and so went to the Sunland Park location (firstly) at the Shoppes of Solano . . . ~ This shop is located on the first floor of the mall and as you enter, make an immediate right and its the first store on your right nearest the entrance to the Shoppes of Solano signage. ~ after the initial inspection of the G-shock, I was asked to leave the timepiece to have the Watchmaker look it over himself, when he came in later that day and that he would then contact me later with an estimate for the requested work/exchange requested. ~ and I did so. ~ later that day, I was contacted by Jaime and communication was very exemplary as the Watchmaker listened to my request for the G-Shock and he asked me to call him the next day (in the morning) for a final total of the estimate for the work to be done. ~ the next morning, I called as requested and I was told that the timepiece would be ready by 2000hrs (8 pm) that evening . . . ~ I should mention that I live about 200 miles from El Paso in the desert area, on the other side of Sierra Blanca, so after a bit of planning and after some thought I took it upon myself to drive to El Paso - “earlier than expected” - in order save time. ~ I arrived at the Sunland Park Mall location and was told that Jaime was at the Sears location at Cielo Vista Mall as both locations do jewellery work and watch repair, so he travels between both store locations to do those repairs. ~ this intrigued me as this showed me that he was kept busy with a variety of customers and that customer care was a priority. ~ I then travelled toward the Cielo Vista Mall location as directed. ~ at this location, the shop is located inside Sears in a yellow Alcove section of Sears. ~ if you enter Sears, from either entry, just look for the Yellow colour scheme, as you can't miss it as it is near an entrance near a corner. ~ as I arrived, Jaime was working on another customer's watch. ~ after completing the customer service before me, he immediately started on my watch. ~ As a bonus, he invited me to watch the complete process (as he completed the work) and I manoeuvred into a place nearest his work area and he started working on the G-Shock. ~ as the watch was taken apart, each step was identified by Jaime, as each of the parts was exchanged with newer parts and placed into its new home. ~ I watched as he took his time, carefully handling each part, whilst explaining each step, so I was aware of what was happening (as it happened) and before I knew it the watch was completed within minutes. ~ Jaime is a TRUE PROFESSIONAL who cares about his craft, he has extensive experience and knowledge of his craft and watching this man work - "LIVE" - was just a bonus to his professionalism. ~ It was then, that I decided to continue my patronage to his shop, with any further repairs or additions that I may be required for any future watches to be done by Jaime himself. ~ This Master Watchmaker and his shop (including his employees) are a - "unique gem" - in El Paso and you can't go wrong in having this professional team work on your valued treasures, family heirlooms and jewellery. ~ HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! = = ~ Addendumn . . . ~ here's the - lume photo - taken once the hands and hour markers have been changed from the OG ones on the G-Shock . . . ~ I am pleased and impressed by the look now, making it much easier to view and read the time in the dark vs using the light option on the timepiece. ~ this modification was a success!"
