"Dr. Cavens took her time with my appointment. She was thorough and answered all of my questions. I could truly tell that she cares about her patients."
"Not pleased at all with this Dr. she never knew who I was, never remembered my problem.Like see never looked at my chart.. Sometimes even confused me with other patients second guessing my condition, even after seeing her for over a year. She prescribed me a birth control that , cause “it’s was her favorite to prescribe” it worsened my problem. I ended up in the emergency room. The ER Gynecologist said not to take that particular birth control. Hospital gave me an Ultrasound which i found out then I had and enlarged Uterus and fybroids When I asked Dr. Cavens to change it she said only 3 months till I found a new Dr. Then I told her my Diagnosis she she said it was “common in my culture, Hispanics”. Never have I ever seen such a more incompetent MD in my life. Good riddance."
"Unlike everyone on this thread, who “hates” Dr Cavens. I have to come to her defense because she literally saved my life. I had a hemorrhage after birth (she did not deliver my baby) I was bleeding out fast and once paged she went into beast mode. Rushing all the nurses, CNAs, requesting a OR prompt. I had to have a emergency partial hysterectomy (removal of my uterus). She was under so much pressure I had to verbally say out loud “ I give verbal consent to everything I needed to sign.” There was literally no time to waste. To say that I asked her to please tell my children that I loved them, and to please not let me die. The last thing I remember her saying was your not going to die you will tell them yourself. I woke up. It was the most painful thing I had gone thru but I was soooo thankful for everything. She came and visited me on her days off. She even checked up on me days later. Now a week later I was to return to the clinic to remove stitches from the surgery. Her staff made it difficult for me to get a appointment. They scheduled me three weeks out. I told them that Dr Cavens asked me to come latest a week. I left messages, came in person and Maria a MA even spoke to me and said no not until appointment. I came in on the scheduled appointment, Dr Cavens of courses asked why had I not come sooner. I told her, that the staff wouldn’t allow me to schedule sooner. That I even came in person. She was very disappointed, my incision area was super red, infected and started growing mold due to moisture trapped. Yes she went off, on her staff. She asked me if she can bring in people so they can visually see what happens when they fail a patient. I honestly had no problem with that because I wouldn’t want that to happen to anyone else. Weeks later, on my 6 week visit. I was going thru a very bad postpartum depression. My husband came with me and he told Dr Cavens everything that was going on with me. I was going crazy, I would go days without sleep, not eating, never wanting to pick up my daughter. I was so upset with my husband. I felt betrayed because of course I was going to lie and say everything was ok. She yelled at me because I got mad at my husband for being a “snitch” with her. Yet she did that in a stern motherly way. She told me to appreciate the husband I had because he did out of love for me and knows I needed help. I slowly, started feeling better. I have came back on my feet and honestly am so glad to have had her that night in the hospital. She literally saved my life physically and emotionally. Thank you Dr Cavens, for everything!!! Ps. If you like your Drs to sugar coat things then do not come to her. She is as honest as they are and if you are a sensitive individual that likes pointing faults on things and not take responsibility for your own actions, she is not the one for you."
"Dr. Cavens is absolutely horrible and impossible to work with. If you care about your health and patient rights, do not see Dr. Cavens. She is absolutely unprofessional and downright disrespectful. She has the bedside manners equal to a ghetto beggar on the street."
"The most disrespectful doctor I have ever come across. She discouraged me from getting treatment and refused to exit the exam room when I asked her to leave after I had enough of her yelling and insulting me. Mind you, I am pregnant, and she refused an ultrasound once she realized that I was looking for a referral to get continued care at another facility for my future prenatal appointments. I was nude, as I was waiting to be examined, and she brought in 2 students without asking my permission (which I stated I was not okay with male students seeing me nude)... and thats when she WENT OFF. She violated several of my patient rights so I highly encourage others to KNOW YOUR RIGHTS! She is NOT a patient advocate and will try to humiliate you."
