"I wanted to install a Kenwood KSC-PSW8 powered subwoofer on my 2017 Volkswagen Jetta on July 24th, 2021. When I went there, the guy kept on saying from the beginning that powered subwoofers are no good and typically all customers are dissatisfied at the end of installation. Instead of doing his job properly, he kept on trying to sell me the 12" subwoofer on my car which I never needed as my car already had some bass. When he was done, he showed me and even I noticed that there was no additional bass at all. He told me that it's not powerful enough. I was disappointed and felt it was a product flaw. After a few days, I was almost ready to replace my unit and then I noticed that there was no sound coming from the subwoofer at all! He installed it incorrectly. I was unplugging the cables and right after I unplugged the red cable, there was bass! He didn't even check whether my unit is actually powered while installing it. I bet he always had incorrectly installed powered subwoofers. I can see the difference now! The powered subwoofer is more than enough to satisfy me. I don't recommend them at all."
