"Dr Sharma saved my life. A few years ago I was miss diagnosed and actually had a serve lung infection. My chest x-rays were looked at by several doctors over several months and they all saw nothing. Breathing for me finally became so difficult that my mom took me to the ER. Numerous times I told the nurses and hospitalist that I was suffocating but no one believed me. My mother insisted on a pediatric pulmonologist and Dr Sharma came to Edwards Hospital on the weekend to see me. I was having severe chest spasm, but because my oxygen levels recovered in a few minutes they didn't think I was in terrible distress. I can tell you I would have died if Dr Sharma did not come to the hospital that weekend. He took one look at my x-rays, saw the tiny white dots on them that none of the other doctors noticed, and proceeded to order a ridiculous amount of prednisone and other medications. Hours later I was coughing up "cups" and "cups" of sputum. Dr Sharma was so worried about me that he gave my mother his personal cell phone number and told her to call him if something didn't seem right. I remained in the hospital another week until I stabilized. I then remained on nebulizer treatments (Xopenex) the next 3 months. Dr Sharma is a wonderful and caring doctor.
