"I have had a horrible experience with the billing at the practice. They have consistently billed extra copays, claimed that they didn't receive payments, and when I send them a receipt, they say the payment was applied to a different copay. To illustrate, I recently received a co-payment bill from 11/2023, and today's date is 2/26/2024. In light of these ongoing issues, I highly recommend finding a different practice. Thankfully, my insurance company is taking care of this."
"DO NOT GO HERE FOR HELP. They are a pill mill, they only want to give you drugs and collect your money, your mental health is of little concern to them. The real kicker is if you get behind on your bill - and we're talking about $27 here - they withhold your medications. See they put you on meds that are not exactly safe to stop abruptly and then use that as leverage to make you pay your bill. To be clear, I would have paid my bill, when I can, I have been off work with back surgery for 4 months with zero income, my psych is fully aware of this, yet they are still going to withhold my medication until I pay them $27….. TWENTY SEVEN DOLLARS! Not thousands, not even hundreds. Sad that a doctors office would do such a thing but here we are."
"Kevin Serrano has been an amazing provider to work with in addressing my teen daughter's ADHD diagnosis and treatment. He is very knowledgable and compassionate and has been willing to work with us to find her the best treatment options (treating ADHD is an art as well as a science and requires a lot of trial and error). Kevin has been with us through the whole journey with lots of thoughtful suggestions. He has educated us about ADHD and given us lots of treatment options - he is not one to just write a prescription for what HE thinks is the right med. We are all a team and there has been true collaboration. I highly recommend Kevin!"
"I love Zach and Jarryd. They have been wonderful. The doctor does not return urgent calls. Also, predatory billing is the main reason I left this practice. No one knew what the price was or what I owed, the supervisor was rude to not just let me cancel the appointment. No, she wanted that $120 cancellation fee. So I went to the appointment because it was only $10 more. My therapist said others had complained to him about the billing situation. I said this is the reason I’m leaving, not you. It’s all a scam except for the young men who have chosen this profession to help people and yet deal with a greedy doctor. Go somewhere else. It’s so easy now to find psychiatric care at another facility! I did! The receptionists are incompetent and don’t know what’s going on. Just avoid it. You don’t have to pay almost a car payment a month to get help."
"Edit: A couple of hours later, after seeing my review, the office has called and will be issuing my refund. ___ I love my psychiatrist. She is absolutely amazing, listens to my needs, and is always there to support me. She looks at you as a whole person, not just for what you're dealing with mentally / emotionally. However, billing here is absolutely dreadful. I was charged $150 for a telehealth appointment, was told it was "self-pay" because they didn't have my updated insurance (which, they never called to ask me if I had a new insurance policy before billing me... they just charged me anyway), and now they're saying it'll take 30-40 DAYS to hear back from insurance. It took 11 days to get this answer after running around on the phone trying to find the right person to talk to, now I have to wait even longer over something they did not handle properly. After seeing the reviews on here, I can see I'm not the only one who has had this issue. I think if you're going to charge your patients anything, you should communicate with them if you notice something doesn't seem right (for example, not having an updated insurance card). Had they called me to ask for that BEFORE charging me, none of this would have happened. Now, I'm out a $150 and they couldn't be bothered. I was in tears on the phone and they just shrugged it off. I think this is totally unethical and not the best way to take care of your patients. I really hope they can get this resolved soon as I love my psychiatrist so much and don't want to have to leave because of billing's messy practices."
