"I've been taking my kids here for over three years now. They are knowledgeable, but the logistics of making routine and follow-up appointments for my kids who are established patients is ridiculous. The support staff are absolutely useless. You cannot make an appointment, you have to leave a voicemail asking to be called to make one, but then no one ever calls you back!"
"They made me fill out all this intake paperwork, just to tell me that they are not taking patients from out of state. We moved here from Oklahoma and our son was obviously diagnosed in a different state. Which wasn’t a secret when I called them in the first place. Instead of them being upfront about it, they made me fill out 500 pages of intake paperwork scan them 500 items just for them to send me a letter a month later telling me after careful review we do not accept patients that were not diagnosed in our clinic."
"Doctors and staff here have very little knowledge of autism in girls and women. My son received his autism diagnosis here, yet I had to take my daughter for a second opinion as they spent less than 2 hours with her here and, even with a strong family history of autism, suggested we seek an ADHD, ARFID, sensory processing disorder, anxiety disorder, and oppositional defiance disorder diagnoses elsewhere for her. When I expressed my disappointment with this outcome, the doctor and SLP were incredibly rude in return, questioning what I want to “gain” from her being properly diagnosed and implying she wouldn’t receive accommodations through the school system either way (which is false and horrible misinformation to relay). The doctor we got a second opinion from elsewhere spent many hours with her over the course of several appointments and she received her proper autism diagnosis with a PDA profile. The whole staff also solely pushes ABA and Autism Speaks and have little respect, understanding and offer zero alternatives for those of us who refuse these unethical services and resources. Overall a horrible experience and waste of time."
"Dr. Meyer has been absolutely amazing each and every time we've worked with her and her team. I have 2 children, 14 years old, and 3 years old, who have both been evaluated and diagnosed by Dr. Meyer, and the support and referrals she's given is over the years has been wonderful. I just left our pediatrician's office with my 15 month old daughter who is already showing speech delays (our first signs of autism in both of my previously diagnosed son and daughter), and as soon as we got home, I immediately called Dr. Meyer's office to schedule a appointment for an evaluation for my youngest. I have absolutely no doubts that Dr. Meyer is the best, and that no matter her diagnosis, Dr. Meyer will help and support my daughter, and our family. She is a brilliant doctor, who is kind, patient, compassionate, and always takes the time necessary to talk through everything and really, genuinely listens to, and trusts her patients and their parents. She has always worked collaboratively with me as a parent, and I always leave feeling heard and supported."
"My child was diagnosed by Dr. Meyer with autism and all that goes along with that diagnosis in 2018. She immediately set it up for me to see Tina Preston, the OT, that was in evaluation. Dr. Meyer listens to me and always keeps an open mind when I send her elusive articles that I've stumbled upon. We see her every six months and she listens as long as it takes and listens to all of my concerns and I feel like I'm talking with a friend. I still see Tina every week since 2018. I can't say enough about Tina. Tina is there to teach me because she only has an hour a week with my child so she tries so hard to teach me the follow through at home. I'm a tough case because I tend to want everything to be easy for him. She has shown patience with me that is extraordinary. I don't know what I have done without Tina but I know I would have felt lost. We have had speech therapy and orthotics through the same office at Mercy Kids Autism Center. Everyone has been so kind and helpful. Dr. Meyer and Tina have walked this path with me since Day One and I don't know where we would be without them. They ALWAYS make me feel better and hopeful. I couldn't have a better Mercy team for my little guy."
