"I rushed my newly adopted dog here one afternoon when I noticed his breathing wasn’t right and his tongue was pale. This place was only ten minutes from my house, so I immediately headed there unsure where to go. On the drive he vomited and collapsed. Upon arrival I begged an employee inside to please help, and she ran to my car immediately and started to help. My dog is 60lbs and was dead weight, and she carried him inside where they immediately got him oxygen and ran tests. The entire staff was so attentive helping him and getting info from me while also making sure I had water and was ok. Dr Hein didn’t step away from my dog until he was stable enough to do so, and she explained that he needed to be transferred to an ER because he possibly needed a blood transfusion. She arranged with the ER for his arrival there and got him enough fluids before the ride. Another tech carried my boy to my car, and luckily the ER was only ten minutes from there. They even sent me with a bag of his blood sample as well as the fluid from his abdomen. While this was all happening, a tech even cleaned the dog vomit from my car. They truly went above and beyond. My dog is ok, and I have this amazing staff to thank. I’ve never been to a place that helped so quickly, explained exactly what was happening, told me the cost upfront if he needed CPR, and made me feel supported throughout the entire emotional process. They even texted to be sure we made it to the ER safely and continued to check on him that evening and the next day. I’ve lived in Austin for 12 years and had dogs that entire time. I’ve never had such fast and loving emergency care for a pet as I did here. A million thanks to VCA urgent care. I will bring my baby here anytime in the future, because I know he’ll be in amazing hands."

Dr. Hayes, Amanda, and the staff member who checked us in were super attentive to our new little friend and guided us through care we could provide. "I brought my cat here who had an injury that my regular vet wanted seen before the weekend. Being a Friday afternoon, I called the emergency hospital and they recommended this place as the injury wasn’t life threatening. The check in/queuing process online was very easy and the people were so kind. My vet was so sweet and very knowledgeable. She worked with me on my options and gave outstanding care to my injured kitty. You will pay more as this is an urgent care, but they are up front and give you options to best meet your needs."
