"Rented out the studio I applied for without contacting me, when I called them to check my status they were still going to inquire on my credit without prior approval. When I asked them not to, with a written confirmation, I was met with distasteful customer service and was hung up on. After arriving in person, I was met with more disrespect, I’m not sure why they would treat a potential client like that but everyone has their days. Moving forward I will not be renting any future properties from them, whose to say how I would’ve been treated after signing the lease."
"I've been living at Saint Albans greens for half a year now. I can say with full confidence, even for the price of only 750$ month for a 1 bedroom, it is NOT worth it. Here's a fun little recap of a few of the cool things I deal with living here: 1. There is a squirrel living in the walls of my bedroom. There is a MASSIVE hole viewable from the outside of the building, directly next to the door. I called them about this months ago, they said they'd have someone out within a week, and there has not been a single person or update. I regularly wake up to it chewing through drywall and I speculate it's only a matter of weeks before it literally breaks into my room. 2. There are no lights in either the living room or the bedroom. Good luck doing anything after the sun goes down. Lamps and LEDS barely help. 3. The hot water is basically nonworking. If I want to take a bath, I literally have to BOIL 5-6 pots of water on the stove. I hope you're fine with 3 minute showers. 4. They will regularly lock you out of the laundry room for days at a time, also locking you out of your storage, with literally no warning or schedule. As an art student who keeps all of their supplies and assignments in the storage, this has literally lost me points on assignments, and has almost failed me a portfolio review. Turns out there is a code to the door that they don't tell ANYONE. The door to the laundry room on my floor was literally kicked in because of them locking us out. Luckily I found someone who knows the code so now I can do my laundry, except I can't, because - 5. The laundry machines do not work, be prepared to lose 70% of your money to them. It will take 4-5 rounds of eating your money before it might sometimes turn on. Not even to mention the laundry rooms (and the machines) are some of the absolute filthiest things I have ever seen offered for public use. There's also supposed to be a coin machine, but in the entire 7 months of me being here, it has never once had quarters in it. Honorable mentions include - the balconies are literally rotting away. I can tear the planks apart with my bare fingers. Pets are allowed, so you WILL hear dogs barking nonstop all hours of the day. The inside of the building is one of the filthiest interiors I've ever seen. Everything is carpeted too, and has never been vacuumed or steamed past what a resident has done out of desperation. When we moved in - they gave us 2 keys, except only one key works. They said to come back and get the second key after they reprint it or whatever, and they literally just gave us the same key back. So despite two people living here, we only get one key. There are some pros. The neighborhood is very nice. The people are nice and considerate. Never had an issue with package theft or anything. The people at Mason were very helpful and friendly when we applied. It's cheap."
"Looked at townhouse through them and there were box elder bugs in every single room. Not just a couple either. Carpet was almost black it was so dirty. Ones in sycamore were really nice but listed on 3 apartment websites that they accept pets, but they don't. We very unhelpful with emotional animal letter, denied mine, and made me call their lawyer to find out why it wasn't good enough. He literally yelled at me for bothering him, and we ended up getting our lease dropped because we couldn't figure it out on time. Office staff rude and unfriendly. Lease states mandatory quarterly inspections and absolutely no candle burning. $250 fine if an animal even visits your property, or someone claims to have seen one. Random fines for complaints of any kind. They're cheap for a reason, and I have yet to find anyone who has gotten their deposit back after actually living there."
"First things first. Tony Brandt came out with the speed of the ⚡Flash⚡ on A SUNDAY none the less. Great social skills as well as perfect skill set. He identified the problem with my door in one glance. Speedy and effective work. Clean appearance and very friendly 5 out 5 star service. Mason properties you need to hire more workers like this."
"Do not recommend renting with Mason properties. Their maintenance is slow and unresponsive, the management team isn’t very helpful, and when it’s time to move out, they charge you for cleaning feels and painting when only general wear and tear applies. Lost half my security deposit to those fees even though I shouldn’t have been charged them. I tried to reach out to them per their instructions and received no response even though I have pictures and video of how we left the apartment. When we moved in, it was still dirty and smelled like weed all the time. Had police entering and existing the complex all the time due to noise complains and other issues. Would not recommend even if it’s your only option. I would give 0 stars if I could."
