"I have been a tenant for roughly 3 years at the Ellwood View Apartments, and my time renting there has truly been great. As a graduate student at NIU the combination of affordability and quiet community that Ellwood View provides is the best that DeKalb has to offer. The property is kept clean, every individual I ever spoke with at the Riverside Properties management company were always kind, and they really do their best to make tenant living enjoyable and carefree. I can speak from experience that if there is ever an issue with your apartment, the Riverside Properties management company is extremely responsive and prompt with fixing the issue. I would recommend Riverside Properties to any individual looking for housing in the DeKalb area."

"Will get noise complaints for literally just walking in your unit (was called on three times) 2 times when I was by myself cooking dinner. I was a full time graduate student who worked two jobs and could only eat later (8pm) and I would get yelled at and berated for simply just using the unit. Thirdly, when I had 4 people in my apartment for less than 30 mins- we were waiting for our Ubers to come. Attempted to evict me for an ESA animal when I had a valid (ESA letter from a mental healthcare professional) which is protected under the Illinois Animal Assistance Integrity Act and the Fair Housing Act."

"If you're looking for a great place to live in DeKalb, you're not going to find better than Riverside Properties. We lived in their 1st street apartments for 7 years, and you won't find a better price for a clean and spacious apartment (the walk-in closet was as big as some dorm rooms I've seen!). The location is great, with easy access to I-88 and to various stores, and within walking distance of Downtown Dekalb and NIU. The Elwood Historic Neighborhood behind the apartments is great for scenic walks. The Carlson family and staff take great care of the properties and were always very quick to respond to any concerns we had in our building. One of the owners even came personally to open the door when we locked ourselves out one Saturday Morning! I cannot recommend Riverside Properties highly enough!"

"Riverside Properties, is wonderful because the location is hop, skip and a jump to downtown DeKalb. The people in this area are friendly, everyone in the apartment complex is quite. The Riverside Properties team are wonderful! They are clear on their instructions, they are professional, they truly care about the tenants and their needs. The apartment itself is quite spacious even for two people. The location is family friendly and safe!"

"As a full-time student at NIU, I decided to spend my last year at the Hillcrest apartments. A few things that stood out to me while selecting this apartment complex was the affordable price range, safety and quiet neighbors. All of these factors led to a smooth transition from moving from my previous apartment complex. I never had to put a work order in and anytime I needed information regarding the apartment the staff were very friendly and answered in a timely manner. If I weren't graduating this Saturday, I would have renewed. I highly recommend this to any student or individual living alone, I had 600+ sq. ft and had more than enough room!"
