"I've been coming to this Vet clinic for a few years. I originally began bringing my dachshunds. Normally the visits have just been for rabies vaccinations. Originally, when I brought my dachshunds they were always only $12 a rabies vaccinations. With no exam necessary or needed. I still have the receipt from going from my last visit. The total was $24 for both of my weenie dogs to get their rabies. Last week I decided to bring our three cats. When I called to set an appointment the person whom I was speaking with said that they were $12. She did not state that an exam was required. She asked if I wanted to add on a respiratory preventative immunization and Isaid yes for one of the cats who is often outside. She did make sure to say "Okay, for that vaccine to be given an exam is needed. " which I agreed to as my son was paying for it since it was his cat. I get there and I have three of my cats seen and after everything was finished the tech comes in and tells me my total was $196. I asked her why it was so high and she said because of the exams. I stated that when I called I was not told that I needed an exam for the rabies vaccinations. I believe the girl at the front desk pops her head in and says yes they must have told you and it even says so in the front. She tells me she can have me pay for basic exam for miscommunication which I feel like was basic enough. All the doctor did was basically just look at their mouth and ears and a quick feel around them. Let's just say I was upset because I know for a fact she did not tell me that I needed an exam. $45 plus $12 just to get a rabies shot? That's a little absurd when I can go to another clinic and pay only for the rabies vaccinations. Like I said, I still have the receipt from when I took my dogs and it used to be only $12 without the exam fee. If you bring your animals in to get a rabies shot, make sure you know you have to pay an exam fee of $45 as well. Other than that issue, the doctor was great and friendly as well as the student techs who helped assist with the visit."
