"I went to Pilates PT after still having a lot of hip and back pain 2 years after giving birth to my second. They gave me so many tips and exercises that helped strengthen my glutes and hips which alleviated the back pain. They also gave me real life tips for having good posture and lifting my son correctly. My insurance did not cover this but I felt like it was TOTALLY worth every penny of my own money. I worked with Cathy and Rachel and they were both amazing. They did enough session for me to get the support and tips I needed but didn't try to add on any un-needed sessions. I learned a lot about my own body inside and out and highly recommend each mom goes to visit them after childbirth even if it's a few years later. You will still see positive changes!"
"I had severe back pain due to sciatic nerve pain. I went to doctors, but I hated the feeling and what oral and steroid shots did to me. Rachel is my angel from explanation to execution brought me back to life."
"I was (luckily!) referred to The Pilates PT after the birth of my first child. I was hesitant due to the time demand of a newborn coupled with the pain/ recovery issues that I felt at the time after a difficult birth experience. I was able to get in quickly and worked with Dr. Rachel for pelvic floor PT. It’s clear that Dr. Rachel is made for this specialized care. She’s clearly talented in what she does and, moreover, she does it with an incredibly warm, authentic, and compassionate approach. This was paramount for me because in my post partum world (so challenging!), I relied on her grace and encouragement. She’s solid and deliberate in what she recommends too - she knows a lot about the body and explains “the why” which was big for me. I’m a visual learner, so I greatly benefited from the YouTube videos that Dr. Rachel created for the at-home exercises. That was a huge factor for my personal success - it took the fear and loneliness out of the exercises (Am I doing this right? Will this ever get better? Why is this hard for me?) Within sessions, I was back to my old self for everyday living and as I neared the end of my treatment plan…I’m back to running and jump rope, activities that didn’t seem possible in “new mom”, breastfeeding life. Thank you, Dr. Rachel - I’m so thankful to have had you as part of my care team and will be back in the future… this PT truly works!"
"I loved my experience at the Pilates PT. I really felt that I was being taken care of by all Melissa, Rachel and Cathy. They helped me understand my postnatal body and taught me so much about proper techniques to strengthen my abdominal wall. I also really enjoyed their classes and found them super helpful in getting back into exercise after having a baby."
"Rachel has been instrumental in my recovery from a micro discectomy surgery in my lower back. I did physical therapy for months after surgery, and it definitely helped me get my strength back, but Rachel took it a different level of recovery for me. Her expertise in Pilates, combined with being a physical therapist gives her a unique perspective and can really understand what's going on in my body, how it's all connecting and uses the Pilates to build on that. She taught me how to really access my inner core, strengthen, protect my back, and gave me confidence to start exercising again without fear or re-injury. Rachel is patient, realistic, will push you appropriately, and is her single most important concern is supporting and transitioning you to meet your goals."
