"My therapist's ill-thought out haste, unempathetic choices, and inability to properly assess and listen costed me hundreds in bills, almost my job, and caused my pets to be left without food, water, and access to relieve themselves outside for 20 hours. I will not be back. I was lied to, had conversations and information kept from me, and overall experienced rude and aggressive treatment under the guise of "care and concern". If you can't listen, understand, and respect people's lives outside of your treatment plan, you just cannot be in the mental health field. I was put more at risk of stress and mental anguish due to the actions of my now former therapist. Do yourself a favor and don't just book a session with the first therapist taking new clients without putting in your research- there may be a good reason they have such open availability. Update: The owner of this clinic is just as much to blame as his students are for this evening of humiliation and stress. I emailed him after the incident and never received a response. When I called the clinic to ask for records and make sure any standing appointments were cancelled is the first I heard from him. When I went to pick up the documents, he tried to speak to me as if I was his patient- asking me to explain confidential things about myself, symptoms, and history. He defended his students for their borderline malpractice even stating that they were in contact with him that night and he had a hand in this decision making having never met me or knowing anything at all about me. He was condescending, defensive, and unapologetic refusing to take responsibility for his and his staff's mistakes. I sincerely hope anyone using this practice is cautious. These are not competent mental health "professionals". The amount of disrespect against my politeness as I kept my anger at bay was uncalled for. I have multiple connections with other in mental health and they all have agreed that what I experienced was horrendous and grossly unnecessary. After doing a little more research into therapeutic malpractice, myself, I've found three correlations between the decisions made my Family Stress Clinic staff and grounds for legal action against them for malpractice."
