"Started playing golf 22 years ago. Took lessons at Golftec about 7 years ago did not get much improvement but admittedly I was not disciplined. I also tried private lessons when I started playing which got my on reasonable track...sort of. I signed up again at Golftec North Austin 1 year ago because my game was worsening despite trying to follow abundant advice available on TV and youtube videos. I analyzed my own swing and tried a variety of golf gadgets and basically steadily got worse. Derek White started with a patient approach pointing the usual swing flaws of hip sway, early extension and scooping. Although I was aware that I had these problems and had tried correcting them on my own using iphone videos the Golftec video captured the severe degree of these flaws. The difference this time around was that Derek specifically gave drills and advice on how to implement and observe the videos for evidence that I was improving in terms of body and club position. It was astonishing how WRONG the correct positions felt. After many months of 2-3 practice sessions per week and 1 lesson every 2 weeks I began to gain distance and better contact. The positions at the top of the swing are proper and the totally foreign sensations now feel normal. My natural shot is now a draw. I still have problems with early extension but I'm pretty confident I will gradually get the correct impact position into my swing DNA. Overall I am impressed with the Golftec approach. Derek is a good teacher ..a "golf whisperer" of sorts. A word of warning however. If you have been swinging the club incorrectly as I was for decades it will take a LOT of work to improve. The lessons aren't cheap but it makes much more sense to sign up with them as opposed to spending $1000+ on new clubs. -A satisfied 66 year old customer"
