Max A. Mandel Municipal Golf Course

"Was so excited to play this course and was hugely disappointed. I drove 3 hours to play the Max and got there just to see that the greens were non existence. We were the only ones on the course that we noticed that day and the greenkeepers kept following us on ever hole no consideration when we would tee off or even putt. They kept their machines running the whole time. At one point we even had to ask them to move because we were afraid we would hit them with our ball. But the cherry on top was on 18. We waited over 15 mins to hit onto the green but they decided to lay down sand instead. No courtesy. One good thing staff in the clubhouse was A1. Would not recommend."

"Very nice course. Great layout. The greens were horrendous and the back 9 was closed because they’re aerating so I golfed the front 2x. Nobody there which is crazy but it was 90 degrees plus. Would love to see the back 9."

"We used the venue for our wedding at the end of March. We knew we wanted a location that hadn’t been overused in Laredo but also beautiful. We were so pleasantly surprised that the chef, Lorenzo Serratos was located here! He helped us coordinate everything that went on leading up to the wedding as well as the day of. We were able to take advantage of the outdoors by doing a cocktail hour downstairs and have the reception upstairs. It was amazing because so many Laredoans have never seen the view that The Max has to offer, but people that were visiting from out of town and out of state had such a great impression of what Laredo has to offer in beauty and in taste of food. My now, husband, also surprised me that day with fireworks! This location was evidently a wonderful place to do it as the night sky lit up with large fireworks! Could not have asked for more! Thank you The Max for being awesome!"
