"This was a horrible experience. The phone in the room did not work, so while I was trying to call to the front desk, I had to use my own cell phone. When I told the staff when I called on my phone that the phone was not working, their response was “okay, what did you need”. Which left me to believe that they were aware that the phone was not working. Thank goodness it was no emergency and I had my own phone because if not, I would not be able to dial out for them or to any help. When I called and asked about robes that they didn’t have, I also asked for towels. The staff told me.” I guess I can bring it up because it’s pretty quiet down here now”, I’m guessing that if it was busy, I would’ve had to come down and get my own things. The Wi-Fi service did not work, it kept going in and out. I was unable to actually work in my room and had to leave and go to a coffee shop nearby in order to complete my job task, that was a huge inconvenience, considering that was partly why I booked the room to start with. I need led a location that I could work but handle my other responsibilities with family. The curtains were dirty and so was the sofas. It was one time that I was leaving out my room, waiting on an elevator and an unattended child along with a small dog that was jumping on me, was in the hallway. I have been here before and never remember experiencing things to this extent. I was just very unsatisfied."

"The staff was very friendly and the room was spacious and very clean. I realized I left my diamond rings on the counter. I called the day after we checked out and they had them! I never dreamed I would get them back!"

"I stayed with my elderly grandmother, who has Alzheimers. She was visiting from out of state and we knew this is the last road trip she has in her. She loved the beds but our Keurig and telephone didn't work. Tonight, our 2nd night here, I finally got her off to sleep only to have a small dog barking two doors down for over an hour. It took several phone calls for the front desk to answer and it appears that nothing was done about the dog. Leaving your pet unattended is against the pet policy, which was apparently not enforced. I think his name was Randy from the Saturday morning shift was AMAZING. He did everything he could to make Grandma's stay easier (I stayed with her the whole weekend). Grandma loved him and thought he was cute and wished she was 60 years younger!! Lol. It's clearly not as well run as pre-Covid when Brian was the manager but it's adequate and the prices are pretty reasonable"

"A mediocre hotel that is a bit away from the Chicago proper but great if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle. As a whole, it did not seem overly busy and finding close parking in front of the main entry was easy. It did have some fast food and restaurant, as well as grocery store, options nearby. Overall, the rooms were comfortable enough and showed signs of some distant updating (within the last decade or so) but they definitely showed wear. The bathrooms were horrendously small. Additionally, the amenities provided were less than what I expected; everything from no free breakfast to the staff skimping on providing shampoo/soap (I had asked for extra and got attitude). The pool, which was spacious, was one of the few things we liked about this hotel. Speaking of, the staff is also what really turned our opinion of the hotel. Especially the woman working mornings at the desk, I found them to be rather rude, abrupt, and quite frankly lacking in customer service skills. If you needed something, we found that it seemed we were a bother to them. Staff could use a refresher on what hospitality means. Overall review: rooms were comfortable and sanitary enough to sleep in. Hotel staff was lacking. Location was marginal to poor for those wishing to explore much of Chicago. Amenities were also lacking. Price was average."
