"We had a lot of fun seeing Darryl Moon and the screwlywed show @ Amelia’s under the lamplight dinner theater. The ambiance was inviting and felt like you were visiting an old friend for a dinner party! The food was delicious and was served at the perfect intervals to enjoy the meal and also take part in the show. The crowd was lively but it was mingle or don’t - either is acceptable. The game show was quite fun! The salad was fresh lettuce and side of ranch and a warm roll, I’d assume the most accommodating for mid-westerns like myself! The main course was 3 options (ordered at booking) I had the chicken Marcella and my partner had the Bacon wrapped filet mignon both had a side of mash and mixed veggies. It all tasted fresh and homemade, like I said cozy friends dinner party!! Perfect serving size & drinks to order. The dessert was delish! I had chocolate cheesecake And my partner had strawberry cheesecake, both were delicious and fresh! The staff was fantastic and were on the ball with all the guests (39, sold out show!) We will definitely be back; for whatever event is here, thanks Amelia and team!!! Darryl was hilarious and we Will try to catch another show!"
"What a great and fun night in Galena! The murder mystery with Warren Peace was outstanding and interactive. The actors did a great job and kept the night moving right along. The food was terrific (steak option) and I'd love to go back for the next show."
"My husband and I took part in the haunted bus tour and the dinner theater. Both were fun and affordable. Our tour guide for the haunted bus tour was AMAZING!! Then we had the pleasure of also having her as our waitress during the dinner theater. We watched Daryl Moon's comedy show. I laughed until I cried and the food was delicious. Dinner portions were perfect!! I HIGHLY recommend booking an event with Amelia, who also is the cutest and sweetest little woman. Support small business, the passion she has shows!! This will be my go to place when planning a trip to Galena!! Thank you for 2 wonderful evenings in Galena!"
"I attended Amelia's Under the Lamplight Dinner Theater while they did a James Bond murder mystery. We did this as a conference social with nearly 30 in attendance. Amelia was MORE than accommodating with our group. She made it so easy for us to plan this social! The actors did a fantastic job with figuring out our group's humor and accommodating to us. The food was great, too! You really get what you put into the theater. I would recommend this to a couple for a date night OR a work social. It was that fun."
"So, overall the show was HILARIOUS, fun and interactive. This was the 5th murder mystery I’ve done and this was by far the most interactive show I’ve experienced. My whole table was involved. My partner and grandpa were big parts of the show. At least one person from every table gets asked to participate, so be ready for that. The actors were very good and were really funny. The space is small and intimate and housed low occupancy. I think this allows for a better experience. The staff was nice and attentive. Now, I do have a few things I wasn’t 100% happy about. The cost for this is about $77/person. That’s alright as long as everything is spot on. The food was good, but the portions were really small. We all got steak and the portion was less than 4 ounces, the veggies were over cooked, bland and weren’t pleantiful. The cheesecake dessert was 4 bites maximum. For the price I expected more. I’ve spent less money for the same show experience and way better food. Also, I didn’t like how the waitresses just walked right through the actors as the show was going on. The show goes on around you and instead of the wait staff waiting for the scene to move to the other side of the room or be over they would literally walk right through the two actors talking. There’s no better way to ruin the scene. This happened with the guests doing this as well. People did also try to come in during the show, which also ruined the scene. These things need to be better controlled. Also, turn the lights off and close the curtains so the sun doesn’t come through. Create the best look and feel for your guests. Overall, I would try them again and would suggest for something different."
