Fried Green Tomatoes

"Stopped in last night, 1/22/24 for dinner. We have lived in Dubuque for over 6 years and had not yet given it a try. From the moment we walked in all the staff was friendly. Our server, I believe his name started with a R. He was great, very knowledgeable and service was on point We each got a cocktail and they were just ok at best. I had some bourbon, lemonceilo drink, too much lemon and not balanced. The wife got an aprol spritz and was just ok. We got an app to share and 2 main dishes. The food was on point. Just the portion size and flavors were fantastic. Overall loved, if you are a cocktail person, maybe stick to wine. But we will be back."

"Service here is top notch excellent. They definitely make you feel like they appreciate your business. Our bartender Will was very friendly and made us a couple drinks while we waited for our table. We started with the mussels appetizer in white wine sauce and chorizo, it was good but lacked flavor. Maybe needed more butter, salt or wine? We were wanting to start with something lighter so the mussels were worth while. Entrees were Sea Scallops over Risotto and Espresso crusted filet over potatoes with a reduction sauce. Both were excellent and prepared perfectly. Tiramisu dessert is made in house and very good, the middle was slightly frozen but the rest was perfect. Our server Hanna was excellent, good suggestions and attentive. We will definitely come back here everytime we are in Galena, it was a fantastic dinner experience."

"I can't say enough good things about Fried Green Tomatoes. The service was great from the bartender to the host/hostess to the waitress and busses. They made the experience so pleasurable for my mother's birthday. They have a great selection of bourbon/whiskey. Had a fantastic EH Taylor Old Fashion. Had a pork rib-eye, which I had never heard of. It was fantastic and really tender. I will go back without a doubt during my next visit to Galena."

"Best Italian food in Galena! The lasagne was large enough to share. Plus, the sauce and noodles were delicious. The salad had a raspberry vinaigrette and pickled peppers; unique and wonderful. The atmosphere was grand, but relaxed. It felt fancy, but you’re not out of place in a sweatshirt."

"I ate here for the first time during my bachelorette party weekend. It was AMAZING! They have a great selection of drinks, appetizers, entrees and desserts. Many of us tried the fried green tomatoes and they were tasty. I got the scallop risotto as my entree and it was delicious. We got to have our own little private dining room area which added to our ambiance. The desserts also sounded fabulous, but we were so stuffed! The next time I'm back I will make sure to leave room :) I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone stopping in the area!"
